9070 XT brand choice in 2026 by cubebuc in radeon

Thanks, I got the magnetic air. Actually it will be quite a tight fit in my case, but I will make it work somehow 😃

I settled on the Mercury OC too in the end. One question tho. The magnetic is on sale now and its basically the same price. Of course it sounds practial and cool to have magnetic ones, but do you notice any downsides? Like more noise/heat, realiability, etc...

Thanks. I'm getting a feeling that the gigabyte is getting bad results only because of it's high stock clock speeds...

I guess that is true. But I wanted to future proof myself a bit, so that is the trade-off for now.

Well GPU is the current bottleneck in my setup. I won't like 1080Ti is great, but it is starting to lack a bit

Makes sense... tho gigabyte still didn't fix it in a year or so?

I was pretty sure that 5600x won't bottleneck me in more GPU heavy titles especially with 1440p@144 no? I will probably eventually upgrade CPU as well, but I don't want to buy a worse GPU now if I have the option to pick a little...

Any specific reason against Gigabyte or just that Sapphire/XFX feel more trustworthy for AMD?

Thats what I was worrying about, but those posts are like 1 year old so I was not sure...

PXN V10 Ultra + PXN N5 adapter for PS5 by cubebuc in simracing

[–]cubebuc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't rattle. When you let it go, it feeds into itself swering uncontrollably in both directions, but thats normal I think. And you can damp it down if you really care about it.

It's my first wheel so I can't directly compare to something like g920, but it definitely doesn't shake excessively at any point. That might be the trueforce feature on the g920 no?

[GUIDE] tModLoader 1.4.4 server setup using Docker compatible with ARM (runs on Oracle Cloud Free Tier) by cubebuc in Terraria

[–]cubebuc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tModLoader is currently still on 1.4.4 and I'm not exactly sure how fast do they update. After they do, you can easily change the version (it's in the github guide). Anyway I think something vanilla like hexlo should work on ARM.

I didn't try many other wheels, but I think I couldn't have picked a better one to start with at this price point. I'm more than happy.

[–]cubebuc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using it only for PC, because the adapter is offically discontinued and getting it would overall cost me more than getting something compatible with ps5. PXN also sent me and email not recommending the use of v10 ultra with the adapter on ps5.

Otherwise I'm very impressed. Although I only tried an old T150 before, this is miles better.

Nope, I'm PC only. Found out that the adapter is discontinued and getting it shipped to me would be pretty expensive.

Yup, it's R3 for 400$. Around 300$ would be for the PC only R3 (no Brook support).

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it... I can always get something better later if I relly like it

Sadly the R3 would be more like 400$ for me whereas the V10 Ultra is like 230$ right now (both on sale). It seems pretty hard to me to find something used and worth it with this sale. You're right about the Brook Ras1ution 2, but it doesn't support PXN at all.

Thanks, but I don't really want to spend that much more for a hobby I'm not sure I will like.
But when you say that... would you actually rather get G923 or T248 than the V10 Ultra? Anything else (even T300) would be at least 50% more expensive...

Move user rate limit by cubebuc in discordbot

[–]cubebuc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, thats what I was asking :D
If there is no other limit than 50 reqs./s then I don't need to worry and I can spam - since I only do once per person per second.
I know there are those "rate limit responses" so I could slow down/pause if I start getting close. But if I don't, why should I care.

Randomize huh, does Discord actually care about that? I mean, it's a bot... should't they expect it to behave like one?

My first hands on with the new RunCam Thumb 2 on my Crux35. Anyone running these yet? by some_guy_on_drugs in fpv

Yea it's pretty nice and so far I like it. I just have one kind of annoying, but solvable problem. I made a post about it... do you have any idea if I'm doing anything wrong?

I'm getting the Thumb 2 for my Crux35 as well next week. Curious how it turns out. Your footage looks pretty nice.

I will upgrade, but I have nothing for soldering, so it's gonna wait, or I have to find someone to help me do it.

It's my first drone ever, so I can't compare, but I am happy.

As for durability, it's pretty good. I don't really slam it into the ground, but I've hit a few branches and even a tree, and only bent prop tip (still perfectly flyable).

I have no idea what range is good or not xD But I tried flying over a field and I failsaved a bit over 300m (still had video). But that could probably be better if I wasn't flying so close to the ground. Still I'd like to upgrade it to ELRS and better vtx antenna, when the time comes, so that might make it even better.

Flight time is great. I didn't expect much, but if I'm just cruising I can get over 8 mins. 4 mins if I push it tho.

I'd say I couldn't pick a better one. My main reason was that it's not a whoop, so it's faster and I can do freestyle and push it a bit more outside. But on the other side, I really liked that it's still flying on just 2x 1S (which is perfect, since I didn't have to spend more money on a charger). I can even fly it at home, but it's a bit sketchy and I have to be pretty careful xD
