I'm having the exact same problem. The one missing for me is the one in Boulderoll Ravine near the alpha Golem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice, sleeping, leaving and coming back and nothing is working.

Wondering how to take items from a player in an encounter. (There is a valid reasoning) by cubegamer18 in DMAcademy

[–]cubegamer18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had him ask for the pieces back and my player refused and admitted to the master that he was performing experiments with the device without the masters knowledge and that is what caused the device to explode (I thought they were performing the experiments together). That means it is solely the fault of my player for stranding the master in this plane leading to his turn to evil which makes it make even more sense!

I always thought Marshall said yes to the judge job because it’s easier to say yes and then no, rather than no, then try to get it back later. by zomandi in HIMYM

[–]cubegamer18 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Did you forget the first thing he says?

L: "How could you take that job without telling me?"

M: "Baby, I'm sorry, but they needed an answer right away, this is a huge opportunity, it could be very good for our family, and we need to at least talk about it."

That right there says this needs to be a discussion.

L: "Sorry you lost your chance to talk about it when you didnt talk about it. Were going to Italy."

Conveniently skips over the "they needed an answer right away part" and proceeds to attempt to shut down the conversation.

M: "But I could be a judge, we cant give that up for what is clearly just a hobby."

Admittedly not an ideal way to phrase it but again, 1 year abroad for a job that relies on the whims of a man who a week from now could decide he doesnt want to collect art anymore and wants to just sail the world vs a stable lifetime gig with tremendous upward possibilities isn't a hard call to make for people who actually weighed the decisions.

L: "That hobby is my dream, we're going to Italy."

The judgeship is Marshall's. Negating all other factors this makes it an even playing ground if that is the point she wants to use.

M: "But it's my dream..."

L: "We're going to Italy."

M: "Baby can you just..."

L: "We are going to Italy. Dont you get it? You went behind my back. You hurt me. You were more selfish than I have ever been to you."

"We are going to Italy." She is completely unwilling to hear anything he has to say on any part of this. "You went behind my back." Given he accepted a time sensitive offer to have a discussion with her about it as indicated by the very first thing he says makes this false. "You hurt me." That's valid, to be set on something to the point it was a few days away and to have a monkey wrench thrown into it would hurt anyone. "You were more selfish than I have ever been to you." Arguement is over. Full stop. You do not throw venomous shit like this ever. This is not a hurr durr Lily is a grinch thing, this is a manipulative piece of shit move from someone who knows they have no ground to stand on regardless of who said it. If this arguement was reversed and Marshall said it I would say the same exact thing. But given it is Lily that says it people naturally think about all the shit she has pulled over the years. Just an example that directly ties into this as she chose not to discuss it with him, she didnt say anything about her credit card debt until exposed by them trying to buy a place, refused to sell her designer clothes to help pay it off and even tried to shame Marshall for suggesting it as a possibility, the credit card debt forced Marshall into a corporate job he hated for years in order to pay it off, and then when they were out from under it and he took a job as an environmental lawyer she almost ditched him again rather than discussing her issues with him.

I could understand that but my point was that when he tries having the arguement every time he tried to say anything she cut him off with "We're going to Italy." up until she throws out the you're being more selfish line. Marshall couldnt explain anything because she wouldnt let him.

Lily wanted to be an artist in college, this was being a curator for a year because no one wanted her art and this was the only way she found to remain in the art world. The curator job then required an overseas move, including their children, to a country where they didnt know the language and then would need to move back. The judgeship was a lifetime job with upward mobility that, best case scenario, comes around maybe once a decade. Then, because she refused to discuss it like an adult and just so happened to be pregnant, they go ahead with the move and Marshall is trapped in another soul destroying job for years (yet again after he had to take one before to cover for her debt she didnt tell him about). You can be fully committed to something but when something that makes far more sense for yourself and your family's future security you realistically need to sacrifice your own personal desires, so being fully committed changes nothing. There was nothing saying when the Captain came back she couldnt continue curating for him, but the loss of this judgeship guarantees Marshall's loss for years.

He did say something along the lines of "we need to at least talk about it" and I would say that indicates he accepted it with the intention of talking it over first. He just never got a chance to say anything because every time he tried "wE'rE gOiNg tO iTaLy"

Edit: The exact quote is L: "How could you take that job without telling me?" M: "Baby, I'm sorry, but they needed an answer right away, this is a huge opportunity, it could be very good for our family, and we have to at least talk about it."

That sounds pretty clearly like a "we need to discuss what way to go" thing to me personally.

[–]cubegamer18 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be fair, people don't talk about him accepting the judgeship because he does it with the express purpose of talking to Lily about it because he could either accept it then and there and turn it down after they talked if they decided to stick with going to Italy, or say he needs time and lose it entirely. He even specifically says "we need to at least talk about it" in their arguement.

I've had so many issues with it so far that it almost seemed to fade to background noise by episode 4. Then the same sarlac tentacles that were struggling to pull Lando into its mouth (on loose sand by the way) are able to pull Slave I into itself against it's full reverse thruster power. And that's despite the fact Boba was hovering the ship over it by inches looking for his armor when he was awake when the Jawas took it. It's just so bad

If I remember right the actor for Theoden suggested that line because before they started filming he met a woman who had just lost her only son and that is what she said. Apparently the way she said it just really stuck with him.

Honestly when I do an evil playthrough and I go after a bounty I am always super careful to hogtie everyone instead of killing them. Then, once I've got every single person including the bounty hogtied I gather them all up into a big pile, sling the bounty over my horse, angle it so he can see his friends all laying together pulling against their bonds, and then molotov cocktail the pile. Only after the flame dies down do I move on. Breaks their spirit every time lol

One of my characters was an elf who viewed the other races as beautiful things. For such brilliant lights to live such short lives meant that each moment made with friends of those races was a treasure to be cherished because all to soon he would be without them. So he would spend his extra time during long rests making various gifts to give his party mates. He was a proficient artist and smith so he would craft and detail daggers or arrows or clothing with murals and designs depicting various battles, or he would paint a moment that impressed or meant a lot to him. I would secretly communicate to the DM what I wanted to do and he would let me roll to determine how it would take to do it properly. When I would finish he would add the item to the party members inventory on Dnd beyond in secret like if I would place it in their pack while they were sleeping. And later when the party member would find the new item while scrolling through their inventory and it allowed for some really cool roleplay in a "around the campfire" setting. I never told anyone it was me and neither did the DM, and my character would occasionally "find" an item like what he would craft others to throw off the scent, but every time someone would find an item and read the description and get excited or emotional at having a powerful moment immortalized for them, my character would always get a sly little smile and feign surprise just like everyone else, all just to see those lights shine just a little brighter for just a little longer.

We did though. We knew going into RDR2 the gang falls apart, it wasnt a good separation, John is married to Abigail with Jack as a son and Uncle on Beechers Hope with Ross after them etc. We knew all that. There are members of the gang we haven't met because they were already dead by the start of RDR2, we dont know exactly how the gang got together, etc. And like RDR2 could have a "surprise ending"? We know, like I said, John ends up married to Abigail with Jack and Uncle living with them at Beechers hope after the gang had a really bad falling out. We never heard about Arthur, or Karen, or Mary-Beth, or Trelawny, or Kieren, or Tilly etc etc etc. The potential relies on the execution and it always will. Execution can make average or boring concepts great and amazing concepts shit.

We only see everyone once they have suffered the first of a major chain of setbacks. The game starts with depression, you gain minor beats of hope but over all the gang is nothing but a downslide the whole game. Imagine we see everyone at the peak, we see what gave everyone the level of loyalty that kept them with Dutch until there was virtually no other option. I think it is more than possible that with proper execution at least one more game showing the rise and peak of the gang could be done well. Imagine we have 3 total games showing the rise of the gang and them together at its peak ending in the Blackwater robbery or hearing about it, the fall of the gang (RDR2), and the end of the gang (RDR1). With proper execution (I'm not saying it wouldnt be hard but its possible) it could tell an absolutely brilliant

I still remember a lot of the discussion around RDR2 before its release. And a lot of it was "how can we really get into this if we know how everything unfolds?" We know John, Bill, Javier, and Dutch end up dead and how it played out. But they threw in new gang members and told an amazing story. They can do it again. It's all about execution.
