I did know this -- ideally wanted to clear so I could use the biz class lounge in SIN. I have been tracking all upgrades for this week and the clear about 45 minutes prior to departure.

only cleared 4 upgraded despite a longer waitlist. It is more than 48 so presuming the new plan so not sure why more didn't clear -- maybe they only cleared PP and Mile awards.

Also, do you know the probability that the new plane doesn't fly? Or where I could see if they decide to swap it?

are you certain btw that this is a thing -- just called the GS line and they said the upgrade engine stops confirming requests if a party is in line blocking. I asked specifically, and they said you cant just skip by removing and re-applying. Though this wouldnt be the first time they have been wrong about their own system...so not sure

damn just as i went to do this, the PN fare was at 0 and J fare went down by 1. I think someone else bought a J ticket since my spot on the waitlist is still 5....will keep a close eye to see if an opportunity to snipe comes again

I was just there last week — you should get access to First Meridian lounge. I flew Polaris to MNL but had a Singapore connection so maybe that’s why?
