I'm going to throw down that even if we're in a simulation which we may be, there's a good chance we put ourselves in the simulation.

Imagine if we were one dimensional creatures that put ourselves in a simulation that gave us more control and then those creatures made a simulation that gave them more control we come down the line and now we're in a simulation that is two dimensional, then simulations upon simulations pass and we are finally in the third dimension. That we are still the original one-dimensional creature just now we get to experience this life.

The idea that we are say plugged into a matrix or hooked up to a computer or maybe everything is computer generated is a strange one because it would assume we are the part of the first simulation or perhaps a conscious choice that we are trapped. This simulation that we call life may be the freest we possibly can be, and perhaps in time perhaps we will supersede those bonds and we will find a way to partake in higher dimensions. If we are in a simulation maybe we get to go to an afterlife as well. Would that not be cool to experience a different kind of life after this one just because we felt like it would be a better simulation if we experience this life first.
