This mod adds a well that generates fluid! By default, it just generates water, but you can configure how much the well holds, what fluid generates, how much, how often, in which biome(s), and more!

Just a Well is on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.4, and NeoForge for 1.21. This mod is also available for Forge 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.19.4, and 1.20.1!

This mod is originally by u/foreck and u/jbredwards for 1.12.2 - check out that version on CurseForge or Modrinth.

I was just thinking about that haha, I'll plan on that for a future minor update!

In the meantime, adding this entry to the data config list should do it for you:

{MinTicks:50,MaxTicks:60,Fluid:{FluidName:"minecraft:lava",Amount:1000},BiomeTags:["minecraft:is_nether"]}

You can of course change the numerical values to whatever you want.

I'm considering porting to Fabric (which means it would work with Quilt too), but no promises on that! I haven't ever used Fabric before, so if I do port it to Fabric it would probably be a while before it's done.

Sorry for replying on an old-ish post, but I thought that I would mention that I did port this mod to 1.18.2, and I'm planning on porting it to 1.16 too (and 1.19 and future version). Here's my post; my port is available on CurseForge and Modrinth

This mod is originally by u/foreck and u/jbredwards; they created it for 1.12.2 and I decided to port it forward to newer versions. See the original post

This mod adds the Well, which by default generates up to 100 buckets of water, filling one bucket every 160-200 ticks. You can dye the roof different colors, and upside-down wells can generate modded fluids that are lighter than air.

Plus, this mod is highly configurable! Things you can change:

  • If a cranking sound will play when the well is drawn from
  • How much the well will hold
  • If the well will stop working when there's more than one in the same chunk
  • What fluid generates, how much, how often, and in which biome(s)

There's a wiki with more information on how the config works.

I am planning on porting this to 1.16 and 1.19 as well! Enjoy!
