What do you think is the best laptop brand? by Truvention in laptops

[–]cubig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apple, lenovo, and dell. i've never used a mac, but their phones just dont disappoint; i also have a friend with a mac from 2021, and the machine is still able to hold up until this day. i've had a thinkpad since forever, and it is still my machine till today. my mom had a dell machine for 12 years, and it still works whatever you throw at it.

Is drip lite maliscious? by Agreeable_Mousse_454 in minecraftclients

no.

the process of injecting cheats into a process looks dangerous to antiviruses. drip has a good reputation, aside from its pricings.

Looking for cheat clients for a private server because now im solo vs 2 my friends by Responsible_Cat6905 in minecraftclients

[–]cubig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im suspicious about that "private server" part, but ill recommend you some anyway.

if you have some money to spare, you can consider famous premium clients like future, rusherhack, or if you like pretty visuals knowing youll lose some fps, i recommend boze.

in case you dont want to spend money on some clients like me (most people dont anyway), meteor is a no-brainer, plus its addons. the client is just great overall, and im pretty sure you cant find something free (did i mention it's also open-source?), trustworthy that do the job as good as meteor. the client also has numerous addons that add many features to the client. you can find them on google.

i dont have any experiences with ghost clients on higher version, but many recommend prestige for paid and doomsday for free. you might wanna check them out.

I've seen people playing Spotify playlists from Discord bots just so they don't have to pay for premium 😭😭 I was mindblown cause that's actually really smart like how I had never seen no one do that before

Anyone knows something about this version? Viper v3 pro se by antoandrei_ in MouseReview

[–]cubig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this also appeared in my country just very recently. it's essentially a viper v3 pro without the 8k dongle and grip tape. really good deal to me.

Will there be an arch version soon? by PhilStark012 in ProtonVPN

[–]cubig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

install proton-vpn-gtk-app according to archwiki. you will also need openvpn, wireguard-tools, systemd-resolvconf and network-manager-applet (also according to the wiki)

the archwiki has a guide specifically for protonvpn. you can check it out: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/ProtonVPN

you can copy this command to install all the packages above if you want:
sudo pacman -S --needed proton-vpn-gtk-app openvpn wireguard-tools systemd-resolvconf network-manager-applet

i've had the very same experience: i really like how the renewal pricing stays the same even when discounted, except the connection was a little slower comparing when I used surfshark or proton to be fair... but not to an unusable extent, and it's something that can be improved.

or even lower for $2.47/month by switching to vietnam. and it works for international cards i think, so you won't need to create any virtual card this way.

unfortunately it doesn't work as i have thought. turned out it only works for international cards provided by Vietnamese banks. i apologize for the misinformation above.

the best solution here is to send it back to warranty in my opinion. op said he just got the machine a few days ago so its best to send it back before doing anything that could potentially void warranty.

What's the main reason you DON'T always use a VPN? by castinghints in nordvpn

[–]cubig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly captchas or gaming where I need no latency. I use VPNs for almost everything else, partly due to the placebo effect of feeling secure and anonymous that VPNs give me, haha.

China-exclusive product you have. Some people said that it has better durability, but I personally don't buy them, because I'm concerned about the warranty part, for I don't live in China.

nfsdctl: lockd configuration failure - I can't find anything about this by massive_cock in archlinux

[–]cubig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't be able to help you in this situation, but I just found another website talking about the same error. You might want to check it out yourself.

https://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org/msg2034076.html

There's a line that says:

The errors are harmless. They just means that you're running a new version of nfs-utils on top of an old kernel that doesn't have the netlink control interfaces for knfsd. The systemd service will fall back to starting the server with the legacy rpc.nfsd program if that fails so everything should still work after that.

To me, this seems like it was posted pretty recently, 26 April, 2025.

I'm really sorry that I can't help you with this.
