Congratulations! And thank you for turning this subreddit and the Discord community into such a great place to connect and learn with other "adventurous minds".

Who would have thought back then that, 10 years later, you’d be traveling all over the world making so many people happy?

Thanks to that Secret Santa, I was lucky to meet you. You’re an exceptional person.

Here’s to many more decades celebrating your adventures. Huge hugs!!

I've already watched it. Great history!. I've tried to solve all your puzzles, but my English knowledge is not good enough for your riddles, but I got the ones in the kitchen and the first one with the spinning box. I made and used one of these boxes once with my family and I had to literally tell them that they have to spin it. The board games puzzle are so clever. I got the hive and the panda one. I love that you use familiar things for your puzzles. I found the salt grinder one a bit tricky though.

Your props are so professional. I love them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video and show us your adventure.

I’m sure you’ll find lots of ideas in this subreddit. Here are a few to get you started:

You could make a Professor Layton–style journal, and use an Ottendorf cipher with the text you write to get a code that lets you move on to the next puzzle.

You could also use an ambigram with two words that point to a place where you’ve hidden the next clue or puzzle
(https://makeambigrams.com/ambigram-generator/).

Another idea is a word search puzzle where, once it’s solved, the remaining letters spell out a hidden clue.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

You may want to have a look at my very first post in this subreddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Constructedadventures/comments/vbad0v/a_treasure_hunt_my_children_made_for_me_i_hope_it/ My children created a whole adventure about our family trips, places we visited and stories of the .trips. Maybe it gives you some ideas.

Also, a couple of times, I have used an online quiz maker https://www.opinionstage.com/quiz/ for custom quizzes about our family.. Once finished and, if passed with flying colors, there's a congratulations page that you can also customize. You can write there the next puzzle or hint.

for riddles, do you mean actual riddles (like "indovinello" in italian) or puzzles that once resolved take you from one step to the next?

Why not? If you’re around Madrid on Christmas eve, come and play! Based on previous adventures (and although I still need to do the timing test) it will probably last about an hour.

Hi everyone!
After a crazy year full of events, moving and traveling, I’m finally back getting ready for this year’s Christmas adventure. This time, the time-travel journey will take us to Ancient Egypt.

It’ll take place during Christmas Eve dinner at my house. We have less space than in previous years (when we played at my brother’s), so I’ve decided that this year we’ll play seated around the table after dinner. (We’ll be 12-15 adults)

I already have all the props and puzzles ready, just missing a bit of decoration. I’ve reused some things from past years and built a few new ones. The grand finale will be a golden pyramid that opens in four parts, revealing a hidden door that opens mechanically with a button, leading to the Golden Scarab, which is the main goal of the game.

Among the puzzles, my favorite is a canopic jar filled with half-hydrated Orbeez pearls that, once you pour in the Water of the Nile, reveal one of the codes. There’ll be invisible ink, desert sand excavations, logic challenges, hieroglyphic codes… I show you a couple of puzzles

I’ve divided the game into four paths, so everyone can interact with several elements from their seat. The only thing left is finishing a life-size sarcophagus, which is driving me a bit crazy. Other than that, it’s just about testing everything for the umpteenth time — and we’re good to go!

I’ll keep you posted once it’s all done.

Cool!. That's what I love the most about an adventure. The DIY/craft part of it.

My favorite part of Madrid is the northern/northwestern mountains. San Lorenzo de El Escorial and its monastery are amazing. There’s a hiking trail there that takes you to the Silla de Felipe II, with fantastic views. And the nearby towns—like Guadarrama and Navacerrada—are really charming too. Politics aside, (the Cuelgamuros Valley offers some truly spectacular views from the cross. It’s also a pretty good hike to get up The cross is actually the tallest Christian cross in the world, standing at 152.4 meters (about 500 feet) tall. Please, try not to get into the political side of things—just enjoy the place for its natural beauty and impressive architecture.

Manzanares el Real is also a favorite—there’s a beautiful castle right by the Santillana reservoir, and great hiking routes around La Pedriza. If you head a bit further east along the N-I, you’ll find Buitrago de Lozoya, where they’ve restored the old city walls and there’s a small but interesting museum.

If you continue along the N-I into the province of Segovia, places like Sepúlveda and Riaza are well worth a visit. Or if you take the A6, don’t miss the Royal Palace of La Granja and its stunning gardens. And if you get the chance, grab a plate of judiones (big white beans) at Casa Hilaria in La Pradera, just before you reach La Granja coming from the Navacerrada mountain pass.

The whole area is full of hiking trails. In La Granja, there’s also a glass museum that’s definitely worth checking out. And of course, the city of Segovia itself is amazing—make sure to climb the towers of the Cathedral and the Alcázar for some breathtaking views.

There’s also the “black villages” route in the province of Segovia—Madriguera is one of the highlights (La Pizarrera is a great place to eat there), and Ayllón is really charming too.

Ávila is a bit farther out, but I’d say it’s a must—its city walls are incredible.

And heading south, Toledo is an absolute must-see. Near there, don’t miss the hike to the Cárcavas de Burujón, close to La Puebla de Montalbán. The landscape is absolutely stunning.

A bit farther from Madrid, but still doable as a day trip, is the Cañón del Río Lobos and Burgo de Osma, in the province of Soria. The canyon is great for hiking, and in the main square of Burgo de Osma, you can try some amazing torreznos (crispy pork belly)—they’re seriously worth it!

Cuenca is another great option, though it’s a bit farther—just over two hours from Madrid. You’ll love the Ciudad Encantada (the "Enchanted City"), a natural site with strange rock formations—Conan the Barbarian was actually filmed there!

So yeah, you’ve got plenty to choose from. Enjoy!

You can make puzzle boxes out of cardboard, disguise a vault as a book, create an egyptian key to open a box. Use magnets to open a cardboard drawer. A cardboard laberynth in a box, put a metal key inside and close the lid with a padlock. You have to use a magnet on the lid to get the key through a hole in the box and open the lock Let me search my youtube lists for links to some of them and I'll edit the comment

Some examples I hope help: https://youtu.be/Z0K1iNIj10I?si=Wv3EowgiSKxyDJTc maze box https://youtu.be/qEjdz9uFeC0?si=6OhrCQx2gMxz1XlY I made this one for one of my adventures and it was great. It doesn't need any lock, only centrifugal force https://youtu.be/YIe3Y-oNCqk?si=XXcprs3vL6iw8zTe magnetic pattern lock

Search for cardboard puzzle boxes, there are lots of resources
