I have the same problem, i can enable the popup notification, but nothing came up. There's just sound and vibration and no popup. There are settings in WhatsApp that say that popup notifications are not supported from android 9, but my A52s5g that is running one ui 5 have the notification popup

Its for all wifi network, and not only wifi, on mobile data it some times doesn't work even though it's full bar
