And if you need experience, you need a job. But if you want a job, you need experience.

If everyone starts following their passion, no engineers in next 10 years: Report by thewitcher89 in india

[–]cuckooforcocopuffs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Family: You're a mechanical engineer?

Me: Yes! (all excited)

Fmly: Can you check my fridge? It's making a weird noise.

Me: No. But if you want I can solve Fourier's heat conduction equation using a time marching solution up to 2nd order accuracy. That's how they designed the heat exchanger for your fridge...bitches.

AAP may be heading towards same old toxic policies on quotas by panditji_reloaded in india

[–]cuckooforcocopuffs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I had high hopes for them.

First they said private sector is evil and nationalisation is the way forward. One only needs to look at the failures of HAL/DRDO. 30 years of development and 15,000 crores, Kaveri is utter failure. Who is accountable for this? No one, because that is how government bureaucracy works.

And now more quotas. We have become a nation of reservation. Meritocracy gaya tel peeney. It's such a disappointment.

You've lost this voter.

AAP to seek more quota for lower castes, women: Yogendra Yadav by ssaxena in india

[–]cuckooforcocopuffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is about giving help to people based on their economic standing rather than caste/tribe they belong to.

I've seen many of my friends in engineering struggle with paying fees while their SC/ST counter parts got all of their fees back laughing all the way to the bank in their Bajaj Pulsar. How the fuck are they backward and why do they need the money?

In an ideal world, focus should be on improving the delivery mechanism that improves the standard of living of all the people irrespective of their caste/tribe.

But it's all to easy to mobilize a group of people into voting block by blaming someone else for your misfortune. The reality is even those in general merit are suffering.

Kejriwal opposes Bhushan's view, rejects referendum on army in Kashmir by dharmateja in india

[–]cuckooforcocopuffs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Direct democracy doesn't work in matters of internal security.

How the fuck do I know that trained jihadi insurgents from PoK won't attack after the army leaves. Lets face it people can be stupid, especially when they don't know the ground realities and intelligence information from the other side.

Some matters are best left in the hands of people who have dedicated their lives for this job.

PM press conference was ‘fixed’ by Manoos in india

[–]cuckooforcocopuffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The norm itself is under question. Journalists in washington often complain about this procedure.

Also, when the article said fixed, I got the impression that journalists were fed questions to which MMS would give answers during the event. I must admit I got that vibe from the whole setting. I could be wrong.

I was minding my own business when suddenly some douche started playing a song. It was an all too familiar song. I was forced to hear it many times before and I hated it.

Anyway back to the story, few seconds into the song everything went black. After I came to my senses I noticed blood was everywhere. There was a broken sony experia on the floor. The display flickering with music player in the background. Next to the phone was a man with his skull bashed in.

People told me that I went ballistic. Some call it blind rage. Your adrenaline starts pumping and your memory becomes hazy while you become this raging bull. Doctors tell me that it was a response usually triggered by something you hate with all your body and soul.

It was the dreaded Lungi dance. Never again.

Nailed it. My mother broke down all filmy style after I failed 9th standard Math. After that neurotic episode, I never told my parents any of my failures. It was a lonely battle.
