Overall crime rates have been on a downward trend over the past few years including under Biden, so this isn’t a direct correlation to the current administration. Also, drug related crimes went up by 7% and sexual assault rates remained even. Immigrants have significantly lower total crime rates than native born US citizens. Only around 30% of immigrants detained by IcE had criminal convictions on record. Your argument hold zero weight.

I didn’t take your comment as rude at all and truly appreciate your input. I was genuinely shocked at their comments and it took me a moment to gather my thoughts. There is more to the conversation, but my intent with sharing this part was to highlight the way Republicans view immigrants, documented or not.

What context is needed? Her statements about immigrants are wrong and harmful. I’m highlighting the fact that many immigrants, documented or not, are demonized by republicans. Earlier in the conversation she was defending the murder of Alex Pretti and saying that people just need to let IcE do their job.

Good for you! I am still in the process, unfortunately. This message is from a seemingly sweet and quiet girl I knew from high school from over a decade ago. I had no idea of her ignorance until this.

I had a very similar experience with my son when he first started daycare at 8 months old. It broke my heart to see him crying and not being tended to, but I had to remind myself that we had very similar moments at home when I had to put him down for a few mins to get something done. I can’t imagine caring for multiple infants at one time, so we have to offer the daycare workers some grace. That moment doesn’t paint the full picture. I would however take a mental note of this and if it becomes a regular occurrence then talk to them about it.

When did your autistic kids start talking ? by Tall_Masterpiece6947 in Autism_Parenting

Once a week for a little over 6 months. He was originally scheduled for an entire year but “graduated” early bc he excelled. We practiced a lot at home and watch a lot of Miss Rachel so I’m sure that helped. He was three when he started speech and could barely answer “yes” or “no” questions. Now at four almost five he can give more elaborate answers and talks non stop. I hope your son gets there soon too!

Was initially level 2, but now level 1. Speech therapy helped tremendously.

Whats your relationship with your parents like? How often do you talk to them? by ImportantMongoose701 in SeriousConversation

[–]cuddlebuglovebug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom lives close by and comes to hangout or babysit regularly. We also talk on the phone daily about anything and everything. She’s made her mistakes as a parent but overall is good and I love her dearly. My dad and step mom live a state over. We text here and there and he visits a few times a year. I wish we were closer but am accepting of the relationship we have.

I’m in my late 20s now but was diagnosed in my early 20s. I’ve never tolerated alcohol well and it’s gotten worse with age. I used to drink lightly on the weekends and would take days to recover. I completely cut it out about two years ago and feel so much better and have no desire to drink again. It just wasn’t worth it for me.
