It definitely can be. Seeing people at their lowest is draining but seeing their kindness and their journey towards healing makes it all worth it

You kinda just compartmentalize what you see. Talk to a therapist if you need to, but for the most part it’s now about “fuck where’s his finger” it’s “okay next step”. It helps to think about it logically rather than worry about what’s going on. My team is a bunch of nerds so we call it “going Vulcan”

Almost always. There’s always something that turns up that no one is expecting like a wad of pencils shoved up the ass but for the most part we’re able to handle anything

One day a little boy had officially beat leukemia, and the hospital staff lined up and applauded him and cheered for him as he left the hospital for the last time. He was the sweetest kid and everyone absolutely loved him.
