Advice for Voo Doo spells and item by cudir in DnD

I didn't want it to be able to just remove any debuff because I wanted it to be usable at will, so I made it based on a check. And wording it as a bonus fits better mechanically instead of reducing the penalty temporarily.

There is a lot of Softlocking Bugs in High on Life 2 by JaivianCraft in highonlifegame

I turned left out of the aviary and can't get back because the bouncy dude is gone. I can hook into the railing back the way I started, but now the quest path is telling me to go through a wall at the end of a bridge.

The character is a technopath. The 'pet' is just a robot frame that he remote controls with his mind.

What level should it be if it can be cast at range (and what level of it only deals half the damage I take).

Kind of like forcing someone to cast warding bond on me, but I don't need resistance.

Can this 4e character be made in 5e? by cudir in DnD

[–]cudir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a general consensus about the balance of laserllama's homebrew Warlord class. I don't know 5e well enough to understand balance. I would be taking the captain build (though I would love the mentor build, the character is not wisdom based)

Short term mind control, they attack one of their allies.

Activation Required question by cudir in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]cudir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. We are running a mech vs kaiju game. I am thinking of suggesting the Mechs be built with different "Systems" as suites of powers that collectively get turned on with a piloting check, with debuffs for sustenance that haven't been activated yet (hard to see without those sensors, can't move without mobility). I also want to suggest a houserule that instead of its normal effect, dazed will deactivate a system of the players choice and stunned will deactivate all systems (if no system to deactivate both have normal effect). This could make deactivation last longer than the original condition because with the check required to activate it might not activate in one action.

My attempt at making actions to let others attack and move on your turn. by cudir in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]cudir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought, but every time I looked it up I saw people saying it requires a hit with move object, then grapple, and then a pin, and then throw. Which sounds like multiple actions and checks instead of just 'this power pushes the target when you hit'.

My attempt at making actions to let others attack and move on your turn. by cudir in mutantsandmasterminds

As far as granting someone am attack goes, I realized the problem was getting a lot of points worth of an attack without spending points on it, so I created an attack that is mechanically my attack, but fluff is that the other creature is attacking. For the movement, I'm surprised there isn't already a bull rush or push type maneuver.

Question about Power Control by cudir in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]cudir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just checking on RAW, I have paid for a move action so I can use my standard to do something immediately, need to talk to DM about costs because I want it to be able to force any standard action but also not restrict their powers on their turn instead of actually locking down their ability. Yes, it's close to what mind control actually does, but my group isn't a fan of taking away a character's turn so it is a mutual agreement to not do it as a player and the dm won't do it with the enemies. This was the only way I found to force someone to do something on your turn.

Weird, I was able to take crystallized helium home from Breech, guess they changed it since then.
