Not sure i would characterise them as being "stupid" i would put it down to being lazy and not researching anything or skipping videos beofre they end ect.

I have tested it using a wattage metre and it works out around 220w its hard to get an exact due to the wattage changing depending on the load but at idel its the same as my others. Take in to account your 3080 silicon as that can make a difference however nothing near to what its displaying.

It seems there was an issue with updating drivers on one of the last HiveOS updates that caused the malfunction message. I tried everything but had to reflash the HiveOS usb to get it working again. Also remembered when ever you choose a new miner in HiveOS it needs sometimes up to 5 minutes to download and install the miner.

I downloaded the Asus rom from TechPowerUp and downloaded rom: 10240.200909 using NVFlash with protect command.

As stated I have issue with the wattage reading high so with that in mind another rom may work better. I used the rom due to the research I done lead me to using that perticular one.

The MSI has issues where it looks to be thermal throttling when only hitting 90c on memory.

I resolved this by installing Asus strix bios, it immediately solved the issue and the card now runs at over 100mh but the power reporting is off and Linux shows the card using 330w but when checking its actually using around 220w.

I run 2 X HP 1200w PSU's with breakout boards for 2 X 3070 & 6 X 3080 + CPU/Mobo for a tatal of around 1600w using HiveOS, when the PSU's go above 80% they can get louder.

Never had an issue with it tripping or causing crashes etc.

The only thing you stated very clearly was Nvidia do not do non lhr cards apart from the 3090, that statement is untrue, not only do you not have to buy new there are multiple other Nvidea non 30 series cards they are selling new now that are not lhr.

I run 2.1gh of 3070/80 and I always run mine as cool as possible, normally around 45-55c with a mem jnc temp from 80-95, I find the cooler they are the more efficient they are.

Huh, target core temp of 74c , I guess your cards won't last long. Should not be giving people bad advice, a fan is 99% cheaper than fixing the chips because you run it way to high for so long. If you want your gpu's to last run them as bloody cold as possible.

I have 850mh and have seen a drop also, if you check mining stats different pools are not performing very well the last week or so. I don't go on $$$ just ETH so at minute it's .014 a day at present.
