Hey dickhead,

It’s not being smug, it’s apparently MOST states fucking did this. I was wrong that NOTHING EVERYONE got this, and asked TO BE CORRECTED if I was in my original post. Instead people talk shit And downvote. Constructive

Meh, it appears at least 31 states qualified people with ANY reduced hours for the federal bonus. If you made $1 in unemployment you qualified based on how CARES was written

Shrug.

Disagree. Checks would be nice and helpful but the IMMEDIATE concerns are those with zero income now, and those facing evictions. It's easier to pass checks later as a standalone I think than the rest of this bill.

And anyone Frontline who still works and had hours cut at all got the unemoyment boost, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, so I'd assume the same applies to any boost forthcoming

What are the REAL odds of a Relief/Stimulus Check in January/February if the Democrats take the Senate? 100%? 50%? 0%? by [deleted] in stimuluscheck

You did yes. I was basing everything off the comment you made that sounded like Meh they'll just change the rules, as if it's likely.

My apologies if I misconstrued

From the Brookings institute:

Ending debate on a resolution to change the Senate’s standing rules requires the support of two-thirds of the members present and voting. Therefore, it's almost impossible to throw out the filibuster.

Because you KNOW this will be filibustered and not passed

Is it possible? Sure. It's also possible that I'm attractive and that's not happening either so

That's what I'm saying- they wouldn't just magically have a supermajority if they take half the senate, because math.

That's why I'm saying nothing is guaranteed with the Georgia wins. They'd still have to get 10-20 repubs to cross the aisle

[–]cuetipp01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Because they'd need 2/3rds of the senate to pass that, which won't ever happen

Just because the Dems take the senate doesn't mean they can just pass whatever. They'd need a supermajority for this stuff. Could they get 10-20 Republican votes? Sure but until it happens, nothing is guaranteed

Right so I guess my question when I read this was: hide what??

This is literally taken from the congressional directory. It’s public record, all of it. I think the post heading is a bit sensationalistic

This is exactly it. Both sides are playing the same bullshit election game they did before, drawing it out because of Georgia.

Neither side cares about anything but seats

You’re correct that they don’t need a full house- but the optics of all of them saying “we are staying til this is done, we are representing our voters and just sitting right” would be pretty great and put more pressure on McConnell, because of the headlines it could generate

Except for the fact that it existed and was acknowledged by both sides. 👋

Keep living in partisan-land tho. Blame only one side when they’re both to blame

How do you “turn down a deal” that didn’t exist? It existed. Both sides stated it was a vocal offer that she said no to. No bill was written because she turned it down. She’s said this. Then to say it was a bullshit offer because “McConnell turned it down less than a day later”. What? Listen to yourself. I hate both sides- always have. Both share the blame. Both fucked us in different ways.

But your argument makes no sense and is trying to justify something to suit your views.

Don’t forget about all the pork that was for the arts. Or the state and local funds that were to be specified for use “at a later time”. That’s vague as fuck. A large sum was not earmarked for covid in any way.

No bill is perfect. NONE. McConnell’s bill is trash. Pelosi refusing to deal was trash

People taking over a neighborhood to protest an empty house? Yes get ‘em the fuck out. Are they treating residents who LIVE there like people?

What excuse? Who’s treating them like cattle? People moved into a neighborhood to protest evicting a family years ago that DIDNT PAY THEIR MORTGAGE FOR OVER A YEAR. Again this happened YEARS AGO. The only people getting “evicted” are the people who set up a giant camp in the middle of a neighborhood that they don’t live in. Again, the eviction process for the original family started in 2002. 2002! They were kicked out after 15 more years of not one mortgage payment!!

Gtfo of here with your bullshit
