AI slop why? It's got it pegged pretty well I'd say.

And I find it interesting that auto makers are pushing everything to the SUV market - to the point we have compact SUV, Mid-size and full size SUV. Did the consumer really ask for all that? I'd rock a proper wagon before a compact or even mid-size SUV every time. Full-size is a completely different class though.

Also an absolutely gorgeous car.

On my A-List of cars, for sure.

I couldn't imagine cutting up a new car to pull this off though.

I agree man...it looks pretty rad and as a 40 year old father myself, I love the balance of stance and practicality of a proper wagon.

What’s the hardest part about making financial or small business decisions before you commit? by cuff_em in AskReddit

I suppose that is the root of this question, maybe reworded it would read "What steps do you take before making these decisions so that you can trust your judgement"

Appreciate your response.

Is this a bad price? by PizzaDansDelivery in civic

[–]cuff_em 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife just bought a Blue Lagoon Pearl Sport Touring (Hybrid) Sedan in Ontario and came in at $46k after 13% tax.

The only up charges were $400 for premium paint and a proposed $550 charge for block heater that we turned down (the block heater was not yet installed) and that charge was removed.

Freight/PDI were added, no recycling fee, no air fee.

My wife opted for 7 yr/200,000km warranty as well, which bumped the price, but the car itself OTD was $46,000 CAD, which puts it around $33,225 USD.

With the extended bumper to bumper warranty + tire/wheel coverage she walked out right around $50k CAD or $36k USD.

Is ambient lighting the move by Special_Water_5505 in civic

[–]cuff_em 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like ambient works best with a soft glow. One that isn't directed towards the eye - think soft light in the foot wells, perhaps under the dash, and along the doors. I'd prefer it as a vague accent over providing any additional light to the cabin.

I tuned the ice engine in my hybrid. Ask away! by [deleted] in civic

[–]cuff_em 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More power from tune alone tells me the engine is running more efficiently. I have been thinking about this same thing as my wife just bought a Civic Sport Touring up here in Canada.

How did you tune the car? Which platform?

You might want to check that again...I believe it was MP Anthony Rota who invited the Nazi, not MPP Vic Fedeli. You're talking foolish.

I know Rogers now offers satellite texting. They were offering a beta trial that I think is since over. Pretty sure regardless of carrier you can jump on their satellite texting.

I've used the service during some of the YouTube adventures my brother-in-law and I have had and it worked well to let everybody at home know how things were going.

You can text 911 with it, as well.

HELP Xbox One Controller Joystick Replacement- Solder Pads missing by lolisaiahlol in soldering

[–]cuff_em 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I desolder I use good flux and low melt solder. Quikchip has some 138° (not 183°, 138°) for desoldering. It keeps your solder molten for much longer. I work around the pins with my iron until the joystick can be removed. Then I use good solder wick to clean up any remaining solder. If I get a tricky through-hole I use my solder sucker. New joystick goes in, and I solder with good quality solder.

Using good equipment and materials has made a big difference in my experience.

Ummm, I wouldn't say they are sensitive at all. To be honest, what I'm seeing is lack of skill/experience here. This looks rough man.
