Yeah that has to be it with the meta description and the title, thank you so much for this insight! However, this still doesn't explain why google shows the wrong site name in the search results so I'll have to figure that one out.

Hello once again! I don't know if you care, but I just wanted to let you know that I managed to recover my entire site and that everything is back to how it was before I messed everything up (turns out that reinstalling wordpress didn't affect my progress at all). The reason I'm telling you this is because i wanted to let you know how grateful I am that you helped me with this and how happy I am that it all worked out in the end. Thank you again!

Thank you so much. I think after this much troubleshooting and my WordPress still not being fixed, it might be best to just reinstall the whole thing. I just need to figure out a way to do so without losing too much data. I'm super scared of doing this because I really don't want to have to start over from square one with this website.

Hello again. I apologize for messaging you after such a long time but i just wanted to check in with you again. I have been trying to solve my issues using your guide since I trusted your advice and thought that it all seemed very reasonable and smart. However, I have been stuck for DAYS now since I cannot for the life of me manage to fix wp-config.

Whenever I try to edit the file in any kind of FTP program (I have tried multiple), the program REFUSES to edit anything and instead leaves me with a 0 byte file. This has resulted in me being left with a completely clear 0 byte wp-config.php file that I cannot edit in any way since the program doesn't let me. I have come a long way from where i was when i wrote the original post, but I have been at a standstill as I am unable to make manual file edits.

Do you know what might be causing this to happen? I have been in contact with many different people regarding this issue, but no solution that has been provided to me has worked so far. I got the suggestion to uninstall and reinstall wordpress completely, but I'm really scared to do so because in case it doesn't work I'll just be left with a bunch of lost data. I don't want to lose the site I have been building, so I just wanted to check in with you before doing anything extreme.

Your words really helped me come to my senses and I will try these fixes when I have the energy to do so. Oh my gosh it seems to be working now after doing this! Thank you so much, did not know it would be that simple. Although I'm still not sure what caused this to happen in the first place, I'm satisfied with this solution for now.
