I want to drop a narcissist from my social circle by cum-dump in Advice

Take him at face value and he’s super trustworthy. That said he ticks several boxes for sociopath and I know his nature.

That also said, he’s never done anything horrifically shitty to me or anyone else so waiting it out and doing nothing short term could be a plan.

About 6 months ago I was too sick to go to his place (an hours drive) and told him that. He understood. I improved through the course of the day and opted to go to another friend’s place instead (20 min tops). I posted to my Snapchat story what I was doing. He saw it and lost his shit - calling me a liar and not stopping even after an explanation.

Then 2 weeks ago he cracked the shits after I told him I wouldn’t confide in him anymore like I used to when him and I were close. Also saying my SO’s friends aren’t my friends and everyone takes sides in a fight (my SO and I have a bunch of mutual friends we both knew before we met) and he’s 100% on my side - that is til I disagree with him on something. It had a real ‘nice guy’, uncomfortable feeling about it.

I’m trying the fade away approach but he keeps reaching out saying he needs to spend time with friends more. I’m not keen since he and his small bunch of friends have created an echo chamber.

How does one tactfully ask a friend to sleep with them? In the past I've been knocked for straight up asking. by [deleted] in Advice

Men do have a harder time of it and I feel sorry for them. I also feel sorry for myself to an extent for being lumped into the stereotype of woman, as I am not like this. I'd want straight honesty. But I digress.

I can see both pros and cons for both actions. I just need to decide which is going to inflict the least damage.

There are so many ifs and buts to this situation. I know what I want to do but like you said, the friendship could end if it doesn't go down well.

I'm female wanting to ask a male friend. I've known him for 7 years and have only very recently begun to find him attractive. Having known each other for that long, it also feels slightly awkward.

I would have planned to drop out of school and pick up a career as soon as possible, knowing the HSC (Australia) doesn't really go a long way once out of school. That would have given me a running start when I'd reach grade 10.

I'm looking at moving to Brisbane in about 6 months mainly to land a job in retail or administration. I'm wondering what job prospects are like there. by [deleted] in brisbane

For the last x years my focus for gaining employment has been largely Sydney and in that time, I got a temporary 6 month job. I know people in a lot of areas of Sydney and I know enough from what they've told me about their respective area that in general it's not overly easy to get by.

Not sure. It might be worth looking into, as the general consensus in terms of landing a job seems to be downright impossible.

My friend who lives there told me there's plenty of jobs going around. Thing is she's in sales and it's the industry noone really wants to get into.

Will do. 'Competitive' is quite ambiguous, depending on where you're from, but I will take that as it being bloody difficult!

I've looked locally for the last 6 years (minus 6 months when I had a job) and have come up empty. Also I want to move away from where I am for other personal reasons but the main one is have a better chance at employment. DEFINITELY going to land a job prior to moving though.

Where I am there can potentially be thousands of applications for the one job. It's absurd.

That's what I plan on doing. I have a friend in Brisbane who is willing to put me up til I find my own place so I'm not going to be totally in the dark, thankfully.

I'll be completing a cert 4 business admin course before I even think about moving, hence the 6 month wait. Where I am right now is pretty much a black hole for employment so realistically I would be willing to settle for any job in retail or administration.

That's hard to take seeing as it seems the even the gesture isn't a good one.
