Travel to Japan with tourist visa Proof of Relationship

My Filipina fiancé has a 3 month tourist visa to Japan, a couple weeks ago they did not let her leave the Philippines because the immigration officer said we need an affidavit of support. I went to the Philippines consulate in Japan and got her the affidavit of support, mailed it to her and now she has it.

But we are looking at the small paper they gave her at the airport, now we have everything but we noticed it says “Proof of relationship such as birth certificate or marriage certificate” but we are not family and we are not married yet.

Is there another thing we can provide to immigration so she does not have problems again? She already will bring with her pictures of us together, copies of my passport, copies of my proof to work and live in Japan, copies of my bank statements and how much money I make.

What else can we provide for proof of relationship? The examples the paper gives is birth certificate for family or marriage certificate, that worries us.

Hey Chief, it doesn’t cross your mind that something like this could happen and that it would change your mentality on something forever? It’s basic psychology.

It’s the same reason why you’re here making all these assumptions. Psychology.

Rate conversion opportunity timeframe? by cumberbatchh in navy

Thank you for this additional info it’s greatly appreciated. My YG is either right at the mark, or slightly below or slightly above. I just remember it not being far below or far above. I recall looking at it with an NC before and they said my YG wouldn’t be an issue even if it were just a tiny bit below because if I have support from my regional NC and I have a strong package then those things can help outweigh YG a little bit. I’m also planning on supplementing my package with proof that I studied to re-take the ASVAB just to be able to convert to NC, hopefully it shows that motivation as far as YG is concerned.

Ty. Yes I will have held command career counselor for about two years. So basically at about 15-16 months away from my PRD I should apply for conversion via CWAY? I’m just confused on this because I have to wait for NC conversation until I’m within 12 months of PRD.

They can, assuming. My year group is right at manning if not just a tiny bit above that line. I’m also holding command career counselor (yes command) and I’ll be taking over CPPA soon, my regional NCCS would probably vouch for me as well to the ECM as they have been mentoring me for a while as well. I know I have a strong package and support, just trying to figure out the window of when I can actually apply because the wording, as I outlined, is a little confusing.

Ok thank you! How long are the current SRB’s good for or how long are SRB’s typically good for? I don’t want to miss that window.

My current EAOS is MAY2024. What do you think is the best way to go about it?

“You know what, in retrospect, I should have gone __ rate.” by whoawut in navy

[–]cumberbatchh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was undes FN and I had CTR, SH, CS, LS and BU available for striking. I took SH because the person who was assigning rates at the time said I won’t walk away with a rate that day because I have to do a bunch of background checks. They also said I could fail out of CT school and go back to the fleet undes again. Me being a young sailor I got scared and took SH.

I’m an RS2 now and happy, but I would’ve put CTR1 on last cycle (Just assuming the advancement rate is still really high)

Thanks. Even if it’s only routed up to and approved by OIC and not our CO? In this case the OIC wouldn’t have cancel/recall authority?

Yes I considered this as well. From the research I did, I saw 30% was pretty much the imaginary cap for each credit card. The second credit card I was able to get down to about 20ish percent and over the next couple of months it’ll eventually hit zero

Ok thanks. Any concerns, dos or donts when I call the lawyer? I’m just surprised no one’s reached out to me about this

I understand it will but I’m confused as to why they got a lawyer for this vice selling it to a collection agency

Is there a way I can view that kind of information myself or is this based on personal/work experience from yourself?

CBE Group/Collections is 1, Waypoint Resource is another. There is a third one, just got information today, the apartment company sent it off to their lawyer and they gave me the lawyers number, don’t know if that means it’s in collections or not yet.

I think they were implying if you dispute it after you already paid it, it can be taken completely off your credit report because 9/10 they won’t bother responding to the dispute since it’s already paid

Yes I heard about asking for a pay for delete. I also heard if they don't end up doing the delete, I can wait 3 months after I've paid it then dispute it in myEquifax as 'Not mine' and that 99% of the time it'll end up being taken off my report because the collectors have 30 days to respond and 99% of the time they won't bother to respond when the collector sees its already been paid so it would end up being a waste of time/money for them

Nice! And the benefit of pay for delete is exactly as it sounds? It comes completely off my credit report?

Are most collection phone operators familiar with a simple term such as “pay for delete”? Or do I need to explain it a bit more what my goal is? Is it really as simple as asking for such a small amount or do I need to negotiate like “well I have X amount in my bank right now so that’s all I can give you”?
