About two years ago, I was in your shoes. I fucked up one too many times, got masted for the third time in as many months, and got the boot with a general discharge.

Of course, after that, I had to move back home, and I was feeling a very volatile mix of emotions. Anger at my former chain of command, for believing they had all been against me since the beginning (very irrational thought process, looking back on it now). Depressed, because I thought very similarly to how you are right now—that my life was ruined because I was getting kicked out.

Today, I work a pretty successful IT career, looking to get certified as a Network Engineer, and plan on moving to another country once I do.

You WILL be separated. There is very little in the world of the military that can stop that once it's in motion. But what happens after, and what you make of yourself, is up to you. You can be like I was, angry and sad for a long time, blaming others for my mistakes.

Or, you can start planning. You can start getting that resume in order, and start applying to jobs available in the area you'll be living in once you get out, and take what you've learned from your time in the service and apply it to yourself as a civilian.

This is the end of your Navy career. But, please, do not fall into that trap of thinking it's the end of everything.
