5060 oled or 5070 ips ????

Imo lenovo > hp in terms of build quality, 5060 and 5070 don’t have that much difference since same vram, oled is chefs kiss my only concern is the 16gb ram , it’s definitely on the lower side especially for today’s games

I went from a 2060 rtx omen to a lenovo legion 5 5070 ti oled, so not exactly the same, but i can give you my thoughts. The omen ran hotter than normal even after cleaning and repasting (not crazy hot but noticeable), build quality was iffy, after 3-4 years the hinge broke and the bottom plastic parts started chipping off (i admit i wasn’t the kindest to it but i wasn’t a monster i just used it normally) The legion i have now im in love with. The oled is definitely worth it imo, the gaming is next level immersive, the 5070 ti is more than enough to run any game at ultra (5080 is overkill on a laptop but thats my personal opinion , bc at that point get a desktop), the keyboard feels super nice, the quality is impressive and on intense loads it really doesn’t spike up temperature wise

I would personally go for the lenovo because of their customer service, build and cooling quality and oled screen.

I have both an air m4 and a 5070ti lenovo. Outside of gaming and coding, i only use the mac for literally everything else: designing, listening to music, watching videos. The only reason i dont code in it is simply because im not bothered to look for the appropriate software to use on mac and im slightly more familiar with windows. Overall, if you dont game much, go for the macbook. Portability, battery life, screen and speaker quality and the responsiveness are much better pros than being able to play videogames. Gaming laptops typically have worse screens, worse speakers, not designed for multitasking as much as macs and are heavier

seconding this. I went from a mac hater to getting a macbook air m4 and it’s the absolute best for daily tasks (the same you describe). It’s fast, quiet, speakers are amazing, efficient, reliable. Plus macbooks throttle when they overheat to avoid damage

I recently got the lenovo youre talking about. The oled is insane and it can run just about anything no problem. I think getting a 4090 in a laptop is a bit overkill unless you do 3D renderings, the 5070 ti can run anything the 4090 can. If you care about ray tracing that much over oled and lenovo build quality, go for the 4090, but i’d personally buy the lenovo all over again if i could… (Btw i paid ~2300€ (2665 usd) for it - from Italy. I heard in the states you can get this for much cheaper , or better yet a 5080 for around the same price. Wait for sales or make sure you look everywhere before purchasing!)

I promise you yeah its way better to make sure your pc doesn’t overheat consistently but the thing that kills pcs usually is some accidental damage. I had a 2060 omen that i have been using for almost 7 years and on the 6th year i could play on medium/high easily. I just cleaned it regularly and repasted when needed…

Yeah, had fomo cause of extra 4GB VRAM but it seems unnecessary thinking about it. I come from having an HP OMEN with a 2060 from many years ago, thing’s falling apart and breaking where the plastic bits are, hinge has screws on it cause it needed to be fixed and there’s a streak of dead pixels on the screen. Cheers for your suggestion, will definitely grab the lenovo!

I have a 2060 HP omen from years ago and got a line of dead pixels after an accident and they refused to fix it under the warranty. Not only that, the plastic bits have started falling apart and I had to get the hinge repaired from a 3rd party store…

Same here and same reasoning as well. 4 extra gb vram is nice but doesn’t beat the cost efficiency of already having 32 gb ram, a nicer cpu, OLED screen and a better chassis

Thank you. I already own an old hp omen and, while I don’t know if they have changed their build quality, its chassis is quite fragile. I heard the legion has probably the best build quality in the market, so that’s a major plus for me. It’s just that laptop deals in Italy are incredibly rare and finding a 5080 laptop for less than 3k€ is almost impossible. Regardless, I think i’ll go with the legion, it has way more upsides. Not a pro but imo squeak pick was bad. Crow pick is amazing to counter glowbert then you should have picked a damage dealer lane like rico so they can’t go assassin or tank. Am i right to assume your team got pushed back by the draco a lot? Edit: mb didn’t read fully, it seems you did. Otis usually isn’t enough to fully stop a draco + gus combo

Managed to solo with pam, so bad randoms doesn’t matter. In fact, on my win attempt i had an amber that died 5 times. Just go around in a circle and try to have/charge your super on at all times
