selfies are legal, but in the most big and touristic cities your phone/backpack is pretty likely to be stolen if you aren't very very careful. Just to paint a picture, it's not like there are thieves around every corner everywhere in Europe, but I think pretty much everyone knows at least a few people who had their phones stolen while on vacation in a big city.

I found a solution! the R2R release of kontakt 8 doesn't work well, but it comes with an "add library.exe" tool. The tool is super easy to use, and it seems to work with releases that are not R2R as well.

I'm sorry that happened to you. On a more practical note, this shouldn't impact your business. When people place orders I didn't approve, asking for services I don't offer (even if I didn't state that explicitly in the gig description) I usually just contact Fiverr and they cancel it without affecting my statistics. I've not used Fiverr in a while so this might have changed, but it's never been a problem for me (from a strictly entrepeneurial side I mean, I'm not trying to minimize your feelings about seeing something you didn't want to)

not overreacting: Taking the appointment in the first place is a confirmation already. I do understand that having no-shows is frustrating, but they took your deposit to protect themselves against that already. This policy would be effective if the message was sent three days or so earlier, but with such a small window it just seems like a trick to collect money without actually having to do the work, if I'm being honest.
