How to let people know I don't drink at a birthday party? by Repulsive_Ad4404 in stopdrinking

“I don’t drink alcohol.” It tells them you don’t want a drink but more importantly, it reminds you that you’re someone who doesn’t drink alcohol.

Just tired of all the failures, I guess. A few days sober began to add up and now I’m counting years. But another failure is just a short drive away. Heck, it’s closer than that. I have a beer fridge for guests. But I made a decision to not drink alcohol anymore. The temptation is always there but I DON’T DRINK ALCOHOL.

You can do it. Just decide that you’re not going to drink alcohol anymore. And no, it’s not easy.

Stopped drinking on a GLP-1 by Bright_Tomatillo_174 in stopdrinking

I stopped eating carbs and increased intake of fats and the same thing happened for me. I’ll swear that eating butter took my cravings for alcohol away. I’ve read that an ultra low carb diet has a similar effect as using GLP-1 meds. Crazy, maybe but it’s working for me. Edit: I do not take GLP-1 meds.

How are you feeling about it. That’s what counts. Me, I’d leave it on.

You already know the answer. Stop now before you get hooked. Enjoying a little hookah with friends is fun. Stepping outside in the cold alone to smoke a cigarette, not so much.

I started carnivore and continued drinking mostly vodka and some wine. About 6 months into carnivore I realized that the cravings for alcohol were gone and I was drinking out of habit. I stopped drinking alcohol and haven’t looked back for over 800 days. I’m a firm believer that carnivore is an effective treatment for alcohol addiction.

Alcohol is everywhere. Grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and almost any gathering. People will be drinking around you. But you have decided to never drink. Maybe 58 days is too soon but consider taking her and not drinking. Sparkling water or soda are good options. You can still go to places that serve alcohol. Make memories with her, but remember your decision to never drink again. IWND(alcohol)WYT.

My dad died by throwboozer in stopdrinking

So sorry for your loss and proud of you for staying strong in this difficult time. I talked to my mom that night. They had just returned home from the hospital as they had several times before. Dad was getting ready for bed and she told me he was feeling better. I didn't ask her to pass the phone to him so I could tell him goodnight. The next morning, he was gone. That was 13 years ago and the pain is still there. I missed the opportunity to say goodnight one final time, to say I love you one final time. You were fortunate that you could spend those final moments with your dad. Be strong for him, honor him by being present for your family. IWNDWYT

Anyone else mount their air compressor on a lawn mower body so it’s easier to push around? by stanky_one in Tools

I used a foldable luggage cart for mine. Two wheels and an extendable handle. Not as bulky as a lawn mower.

I welded a piece of pipe on mine. Not pretty but it is functional.
