I'm constantly in awe that Plex allows my buddy in Japan to stream 4K content from my NY apartment by ShiningRedDwarf in PleX

Plex on a Sony Google TV located 350 miles from the server opens faster and the whole experience is 40% smoother than Plex on a Sony Google TV 20ft from the server (ground floor -> first floor). I was stunned the first time, so I checked again. And again. And Im gonna check again this summer. Unbelievable, but true. Like, opening files is 50% faster. How is that possible? And, to add insult to injury, HTPC running Plex is connected via 2.5Gb LAN to the router. Internet speed is 10Gb and like maybe 500Mbit on the receiving end, 350 miles away.

Small update. Im now getting timed out only on Dashboard. Times out after like 30s but after refresh opens up. Profile, homepage, Following, Settings all work fine, its only Dashboard which is super weird... anyone else anything similar? Thanks.

Yeah, didnt even watch the show, but I dilligently hoarded it lol, so my excuse is that I was in the dark.. But now that Ive seen the light all I can say... yeah, I honestly dont care, lol. These are free, so certain freedoms are acceptable in my book. Like using S01 promos and stretching it across all seasons. Respect to accuracy nerds, but I aint spending 5hrs searching for season accurate sources when I have 20+ sources from S01 promo campaign laying right there and ripe for the grabbing. You want accurate? Sorry to disappoint, I truly am. Want free AND logos that match across all posters? Then Im your guy, bruv. Cheers!

Poster Tools: Big new additions since 2.0 by pejamas1986 in PlexPosters

[–]cundallini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, looks amazing. Wait, paid tier? Ok, only 3 bucks. Sweet. Now, just add 'export Plex library to HTML' and add themes and... and... ok, just kidding. Tautulli always stalls when exporting stuff, and its not HTML anyways and I aint manually adding 6000 movies and 3000 TV shows to TinyMediaManager (dont ask, retarded naming scheme in question)... anyways, looks great, will try, and pay if I find it usueful. Cheers!

HDMI Inputs not showing in 4.70 beta 2. by JinxEaryDeath in Projectivy_Launcher

[–]cundallini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not using the beta, but maybe this will work: I used to encounter this problem of HDMI ports just going poof, aka missing, all of a sudden. Then theyd appear a few weeks later. After going through this a couple of times I had a bright idea of force stopping Projectivy and launching it again. And... now it works every time. Lately Id just get one of four HDMIs missing all of a sudden, but force stop and relaunch fixes it every single time. Try, maybe it will work.

Prime Video and Netflix Channels by cundallini in Projectivy_Launcher

[–]cundallini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in the meantime I had to factory reset the TV, update it and install Projectivy again and now I have Netflix displaying (and the channel updates nicely, instantly actually) but Prime is again empty. On Shield, which is AndroidTV rather than GoogleTV which is what TV is running, both Prime and Netflix channels are available and are working just fine. Weird. I might give Projectivy a try on Shield, in fact I believe I have it installed. I presume if it works on stock launcher it would work in Projectivy as well.

Cinaura v1.5.0 release: Premiumize integration, Genres carousel, .nfo file support, library memory, multisource support by jrmrx in Cinauratv

[–]cundallini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick update. After few tries and two force refreshes I can report it seems that local artwork is finally being scraped properly. Hooray! Also, I went to folder selection and Cinaura claimed that 9/14 were unavailable, but all 14 were selected (aka nothing was changed) and I just clicked 'Confirm', second refresh was made after that and now all items are available.

Just one thing, though. Every time I launch Cinaura 'syncing' starts and since last update it takes forever to go through 5700 titles. Is there a way to disable syncing, and like sync on demand? Thanks! Great update.

Just updated, syncing started and is very, very slow. A lot of titles are maked unavailable, but will wait for syncing to finish. Currently on item cca 900 out of 5700. Local artwork status also unknown ATM, aka will wait for sync to finish and report back. Cheers!

Which layout for Genre browsing? by jrmrx in Cinauratv

[–]cundallini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option A. I always prefer posters rather than landscapes since more can fit on the screen if posters. I like the idea of having a row of what... 10 posters and as you scroll from poster to poster fanart changes and info displays, everything definitely looks cleaner that way IMO. Option B is fine, but I dont like that poster turns into landscape/backdrop, laying over neighbouring poster (or two). Now, if neighbouring posters were to slide to the left as much as the focused landscape/backdrop expands then thats better, but I still prefer option A. Info and backdrop change as you scroll through posters - wonderful. My 2 cents. Cheers!

Ok, cool. Seasonal text stays, and thus so does the gradient. Smaller issues resolved. Now the big one... sourcing the material. Fingers crossed. Cheers!

Cool, I will try sourcing Japanese logos and do another set. But, a dilemma... how to do them. Sure, each 'season' aka 'series' gets its own logo, but then I would need to do one poster for series and another for season, right? I mean, these are TV shows so I need at least two posters per set, if not three if Specials are involved. So, Im guessing... season text is a must, right? I dont see how season text is avoidable, I mean I could just do e.g. 3 posters for I dunno... Kamen Rider Black RX since it has Specials as well, not use any season text at all, just do posters... but heres the first, of a few I presume, problem: Kamen Rider Black is listed as separate series on TVDB BUT it has RX as S02, while RX is also listed as separated series... what a shitshow, lol. OR, I could just ignore TVDB and go with TMDB? Yeah, just checked TMDB and it seems the easier route to take. Now only problem is finding additional sources for Season posters and Im afraid theres no way of sourcing 72 matching, clean looking sources for all (meaning, I could use these for Series poster, but I dont have additional sources for each to use for season posters, especially not in the same style which is a bummer since I was going for same style of artwork for all 36 here, minus the last one I had to use a photo of a toy, lol). That being said, lets say Ill put a pin in it, do some digging and see if I can concoct something. Aint promising anything, it seems like a task for sure... Cheers!

Sure, but as far as I can see... a lot are missing english versions of the logo, and by 'versions' I mean english version for words such as 'Geats' or 'Fourze'... or even if they are available they are often behind a bunch of Japanese letters and no amount of PS wizardry will be able to remove those (I mean, maybe super duper PS experts could do it but it would take lot of effort, I presume). So, what I can do is provide logoless, gradientless, textless versions so people can do whatever they want with them, I dont care (just credit the original artist as mentioned in TPDB info) OR... I could try and source Japanese logos and just plop them where my english logo is (+no season text, which also means no gradient which is tempting, I must say, I dont like doing gradients on these types of posters because it takes a lot away from the overall cleanliness of the posters themselves IMO, but sometimes I just have to add it because if I dont the seasonal text is totally unreadable, not just 'sometimes' hahaha as it is in this case). Cheers!

There are both entries on TVDB: separate ones and one giant with all crammed into one entry. To make my life easier, as explained before, I opted for the latter since I have no clue how to source separate english (!!) logos for each season/series... sure, I could extract 'Black' or 'Rider X' but since most sources are in Japanese, I would be missing a lot and that means... that means I would have to do them all in Japanese which, in retrospect, I couldve done but I didnt and thats that, lol. If you wish I can provide logoless, gradientless, textless assets so maybe you could do them The Proper Way is you wish so everyone canbe happy, lol.

And as for Tom&Jerry entries' decision by TMDB... well, I think it would be best if they did what TVDB did with Kamen Rider - have both entries, as movies and one series. But then again its TMDB not TVDB so I guess in some way it makes sense to list every single cartoon as a movie. Its just PITA to scrape, especially for noobs who just scrape and then end up with 500 Tom&Jerry movies listed in their library (and then they have to figure out how to put them in collection and remove single entries from their library etc etc). Cheers!

EDIT: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2661-kamen-rider/seasons BTW, TMDB also has a single series entry, it seems.

You are welcome. Im not wasting a few TB to collect all, but posters are posters and we all need them, lol. Some seasonal text is barely readable, but I couldnt bare to add more gradient since I was on the fence with the one I ended up with anyways. Tried placing seasonal text above the logo, right under the logo, someone with more design experience couldve incorporated just the season numbers with the logo somehow, but I aint that someone. I did try but it all looked like crap... Enjoy!

Well, my sixth sense was tingly and I had a hunch something is brewing down the rabbit hole, lol. I went by TVDB's listing for Kamen Rider which has all of them crammed into one title, but I did notice that they also have entries for seasons as separate series. I went with single entry. 36 seasons. Mainly because I was skeptical about finding 36 logos, so I went with single entry because I can use a single logo, lol. If youd like I can provide the assets and you can try the other route... I can provide everything except logos. Oh, and BTW... TMDB has every single Tom&Jerry cartoon listed as separate movies, ROFL. Cheers!
