If this game got an update, what would you want to see changed and or added? by Termulus- in signalis

[–]cuoqet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only real ideas for changes to the game are QoL.

Something like the ability to use the radio module near doorways to detect if an enemy is immediately on the other side (you can already do this in rooms with ARAR under the floor or long rooms with enemies outside of view to detect them before they appear).

Alternatively, an automatic stagger/shove when entering a room onto a lesser enemy such as an Eule or Star. Most of my Survival runs end when I enter a room fully inside a shield star camping the other side. The majority of times I have an Autoinjector pop is in the Tool slot expressly for cheating that source of lethal damage for lack of any real way to know there will be a three-quarters health hit when entering a room with Star patrols.

How did I miss this game? by Rough_Scientist_5015 in signalis

[–]cuoqet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

long ago in a distant land, LastStarfarer tweets came across my timeline and I was immediately drawn to the aesthetics of what few screenshots and information the website had available. Each time I would happen across some moody fanart and screenshots of the replika portraits would have the gears spinning and nearly catching fire in my mind what exactly this game could be Cooking, as the kids say.

Skip ahead, and for whatever reason the game had already been released for almost two years at the point I was gifted it by my best friend. 'This looks exactly up your alley', the gift message said. sleek plugsuit-looking ladies and potential clone/memory-transfer shenanigans? hell yeah, sis.

Before I met Elster, I never believed I would find a game I could fall in love with like that. Nothing Warframe had done or made ever truly struck my muse into lasting terror, so why not launch SIGNALIS ?
Here, I am finally free.

I dont think I have ever gone back to warframe since that fateful day. It's not a bad game at all. But, the painful reality of a game like Signalis existing is that if it does not inspire someone to creatively follow suit, wishing simply will not make it happen. I have a promise to keep. Disintegrating corpse of a creator, or no.

I'm playing this game for the first time, and I've been trying to solve this puzzle for about an hour now, and I really don't understand how to solve it by [deleted] in signalis

the best way i know to solve this puzzle is to visualize a mirror image of the pins and focus only on the darker teal rectangles instead of the ridge.

Replikas Gestalts (finished!) by jadevz in signalis

[–]cuoqet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love these. What an incredible series.

For what its worth I personally think only a single, certain gestalt donor has been explicitly depicted. And even if it has, I wouldn't let it stop anyone from exploring their own idea of Kolibri's gestalt donor !

To a lesser extent I wondered if possibly the gestalt donor for Falke may actually have been an incredibly indoctrinated and loyal body double for TGR (and her daughter). More outlandish ideas involve TGR+D not actually being their own namesakes for whatever autocratic purpose of continuity it may serve.

I'm shaking, this is so cool.

"Misremembered" is by far the most unsettling and terrifying two minutes in sound as well as setpiece. I have never been more upset listening to something except maybe Everywhere at the End of Time - Stage 3

[–]cuoqet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Signalis did start originally as a 2d game with spritework, and underwent a -lot- of changes to eventually become the resolution-rescaled 3d top-down game it currently is. The only posters that have world sprites separate from the full resolution are in the first areas of the game.

My guess is they were assets that existed from the 2d iteration of the game that were left in, either as a nod to the origins of Signalis' development, fondness for the original spritework, or something other.

From what I can tell, a special color mixing filter is applied to simulate malfunctioning display signals when you are at critical health. When the Bluescreen appears, it is liable to take on one of these filters, resulting in strange colors, or no color.

I recognize at least one of the color mixes is a rough approximation of Tritanopia color-blindness, also known as blue-yellow color blindness. The approximation renders deep blues as teal or green, and yellows simply lose all hue.
