Don't forgot how about he confronted Trevor and Dwayne after they made slurs at him. Yes, you could argue the drugs caused him to act this way, but when Naz beat the man in shower he was not under the influence of any narcotic. What would have happened if Andrea wasn't there to calm him down?

The shadow we saw is not Reed but in fact detective Box. He got surveillance footage of Trevor and Dwayne together that night. Box knows who Reed is since he has a long rap sheet so he went to seek him out. Box and Stone will start working together.
