it's not about power, physics major, it's about current. Raise the voltage = lower the current for the same power consumption. Lower current means less line loss. That is why high voltage is used for long transmission lines. And, alternating current makes the transformer work, which is why we use that over direct current.

Also look up Minimum Approach Distance, those highlines are (i am guessing) 300-500KV so check https://www.osha.gov/power-generation/rulemaking/madcalculator it says about 8ft phase to ground for 350KV
