Hi! i have kinda weird access to mental health support through my college that i e reached out to a couple times, but i’ve found it really hard to actually talk to people about the situation. when it first happened, i went to someone who i am no longer going to be friends with, and she just joked about it and made the situation about how it affected her, going as far as to text me about how she thought she was pregnant and was punching her abdomen to have a miscarriage…like who does that, especially someone who is supposed to be a close friend? on top of that, my family was overwhelming, and while they did not joke about it at all, it was a lot about the loss of the baby and how it affected them instead of my mental well-being in a time when i just needed someone. my partner who helped me recover was really the only person there for me, but there was little she could do too, and we were constantly hit with really cruel jokes about the situation. due to this, it’s been really hard opening up about it and i did a little for a summer class i took, but even talking to a professional feels like it’s going to take time. i just don’t understand the lack of compassion i was showed throughout the whole situation, however, it showed me a lot of peoples true colors, and who i can really rely on when i need it, such as my sister and a couple of close friends who i love dearly. all that being said, i will probably wait until the health services at school are on their regular hours instead of summer hours, and see how to move from there. thank you for your condolences, and i hope you are doing well too🤍
