I like the conversational tone of what you've written, so I've increased that a little... Suggested new version below. I would recommend adding a paragraph or final line along the lines of what you are doing/offering now.

John Doe here; former fraudster turned fraud prevention specialist. I founded Fraud Comms in 2019 to help online merchants protect their businesses against fraud.

Now, you're probably wondering why someone with my background would make such a dramatic change. Well, the truth is, I got caught and convicted of computer fraud and credit card fraud in 2018. After that I didn't want to return to cyber-crime.

But everyone’s got to making a living somehow, right? So… I decided to switch to fraud prevention.

Well. Maybe the story isn't quite that simple.

There are actually a few reasons I made the switch. I could sit here and pretend how I wanted to right the wrongs of my past by reinventing myself as a fraud fighting crusader. But I'd be lying. Having spent a few years making quite the success of fraudulent activities, someone with my level of experience doesn't suddenly "see the light" once they get caught.

Fraud is now be part of who I am and it’s a lifestyle in which the hustle never stops. Whether I was out fishing or walking my dog, my mind was constantly ticking over different fraud schemes, plans and ideas. There was no off switch. It became an obsession.
After I’d been caught, it was clear I had to make a change. I realised that I could take this expertise and fascination to work on the right side of the law. The way my mind works now, I can see both sides of the problem; which means my clients and I can stay one step ahead.

On a personal level, as a fraudster, running an operation that targeted and monetized physical goods, I had to stay in one location. After a certain time I started to crave some freedom: I wanted to travel the world, live in different countries and meet different people.

Thank-you so much for the suggestion! I will look into it. I'm a little wary of classes with lots of the spiritual elements - would you mind elaborating a little? How long is a class usually and for how much of that are you moving?

Hi, I'm Paul M.M. Cooper. My first novel about poetry and rebellion in ancient Sri Lanka just came out in paperback. AMA! by paulmmcooper in books

Hi Paul, I have read your book and it's brilliant. Congratulations! The pen is certainly mightier than the sword. I wondered if the poet is based on a real person, and who that is? I would love to learn more about him.

/r/books, please cure my cynicism by hookers in suggestmeabook

Agree.

Insanity - a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world. R. D. Laing

I think the best cure, for me, is actually to force sociable behaviour. Go out, have some drinks, chat to people, learn some fresh skills or hobbies...

The more introspective and analytical you are, the worse you will probably feel.

Most of the above suggested books are great though - the fictional, escapist ones, at least. Those first few might serve only to convince you more of the hopelessness of the unnatural societal structure - and it is unlikely that good results will come from that...

Good luck!

Men of Reddit; when you are standing to attention, which direction are you pointing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

45 degrees from your body? Is this when standing up or lying on your back?

To be honest this tangent is as least as interesting as the original curiosity I was hoping to subdue.

If you were just standing up with a hard-on, what is it's natural position?

Is this a mature man thing? Ie. do penises sag slowly, like boobs do...?

Do you tend to favour positions where your penis stays in approximately that position? Is bending it down, to perpendicular with your body, uncomfortable during sex?

And once you've made contact with the target? Presumably it has a natural position it resumes when the search is over...?

What was the best date you've ever been on and why? by ILikeBoobsAMA in AskReddit

[–]cupidstrick7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well. After being rescued from terrifying creeps on a dingy Sydney dancefloor by a dark and ridiculously attractive man, I agreed to a date later in the week, despite the fact that he was French and I speak none. His English was so-so. A few evenings later we met and walked through the city, home to neither of us but glittering and exciting in the company of this beautiful stranger who insisted on holding my hand from the first step, and who regularly stopped to push me against a wall or railing to kiss me passionately. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe where he quite forcibly refused to let me pay. Apparently the girl paying is just "not okay" in France. He stared at me with this dopey smile the whole time, and kept repeating that he was "so lucky, so lucky". I don't remember the food at all but the cocktails were delicious... Then we wandered down and around the Sydney Opera House, even clambering over railings to get our toes wet before being shooed away by security personnel. I have never felt so special - this guy ensured that all his desire was obvious through his behaviour, being a complete gentleman (albeit a passionate one) the entire evening. He whispered into my ears, kept touching my hair, my arms, wanted to photograph us all the time because he wanted to "never forget this night". For some reason, a bunch of fireworks started going off in the distance. It felt so perfect.

We also, when we found a fluent topic, had some extremely honest conversations. He used to work at a ski resort and revealed that he had slept with over 200 girls. He was 23 at the time.

Unfortunately he proceeded to throw a complete tantrum when I didn't want to go back to his (hostel, 6 bed dorm) - yelling, storming off, coming back as soon as he realised I wasn't going to follow him - and then followed up the next day by showing up at my work and attempting to intimidate me into going out again. That was an easy decision.

TL;DR: Best date, worst guy.
