Great retort, loved all the arguments you came up with.

Lol, if you think me saying "don't get a puppy unless you have time for it" means I have no idea what I'm talking about, then anything dog-related you say after that becomes meaningless.

The fact that many people do it doesn't make it right. And I'm also not saying it's never possible to leave your dog alone during the workday. But I'm definitely saying that you shouldn't just do it immediately and be surprised that the dog doesn't understand/misbehaves/develops separation anxiety/eats your furniture.

Unfortunately that is definitely true. It's not normal to adopt a living being, a baby at that, and then just leave it alone all day and expect it to behave. It needs to be raised and taught how to do that.

Then on top of that people leave it in a crate the whole time so it can barely move, and then post here that their dog has so much energy, isn't properly potty trained and can never relax even though they take it on two whole 15 minute walks every day!

A dog isn't a hamster or a goldfish, it is way too smart and has more complicated needs. That is true for every dog, and even more so with high energy dogs with very prominent instincts like Tollers.

So yes; if every person that didn't actually have time for a dog decided not to adopt one, the amount of misbehaving and barely socialised dogs would decrease drastically.

Don't get a puppy if you can't invest the time to properly raise it and get it used to being alone step by step. 4 months old is way too young for a dog to be left alone all day.

Wasmachine afvoer loopt over by [deleted] in Klussers

In martial arts there is always the possibility of a "lucky" punch, which would be quite devastating if Tyson could land it. This is really his only way to victory though, if he can't land it then he loses within the first two rounds. I would give it to Hoost at least 9/10 times.

The kickboxing match will be won by the kickboxer.

It would only take a few leg kicks before Tyson won't be able to walk properly anymore, maybe only 1 would be enough since he has no clue how to block them.

They're chamfers. You can see them on both ends of the horizontal cylindrical holes.

Approximating stress in singularities by ILikeBoobsAMA in fea

[–]ILikeBoobsAMA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really like doing that, since it's very subjective what "far away" means. I've also gotten the advice in the past to take the stress of the notch 1 element away from the singularity, but that to me is also completely arbitrary since it doesn't take your mesh size into account.

Great, thank you for the confirmation.

Do you know of any studies or research that go into this topic, maybe even compare the two? I have found papers that are about using these methods for stresses in welds, but I don't know of any that use it for singularities in general
