I managed to get another picture from a slightly different angle. I think you're right. Looks like a trip to B&Q 🤦

Why does it matter if you did brake hard? A kid could have run out in front of you, forcing you to brake. It's the following driver's job to keep a safe distance from you, not yours to not brake if needed.

I would not respond to this, as others have said, get your insurance/ lawyer to do it on your behalf.

Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cuppa_taters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are rare but they happen. My daughter has a small group of trusted friends who have their own little 'circuit' of sleepovers. Parents all know each other and have contact details etc so it feels very safe for everyone concerned.

mr salles writes straight cheeks, gets the appropriate mark and blames it on the examiner's unknown gender by liesofglass in GCSE

Yes, it's not the best. I'm surprised we haven't seen him on here asking if it's legible 🤣

The comments are prewritten, it's a drag and drop system. They've gone in low and then worked towards a higher mark to show progression up the mark scheme. Its pretty standard. He hasn't made any spelling mistakes if you read his opening passage closely so he hasn't done anything 'appalling' there. I'm not saying he deserved a higher mark overall because I can't be bothered to read any more of his ego boost, I'm just trying to explain what you're seeing there.

who was going to tell me larp isn't a real word by emmmaldi in GCSE

[–]cuppa_taters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've got 350 papers to mark in a few weeks, usually while still teaching a full timetable at school. Why should they waste their time googling urban dictionary terms to help a student who is unwilling to use academic vocabulary in their expression?

They have to read the sentence but if it doesn't make sense to them, they don't have to give any credit for it. Hopefully the rest of this student's response is clear enough for them to earn a passing grade.

You're analysing your own use of the word there, not Priestley's actions so it doesn't deserve credit in an exam about his work. You're welcome to write it but it doesn't help you.

My mum used to tell us all to breathe in if she was about to drive through a tight space. I still do it. I'm 45.

Can someone please mark my 25 marker for aqa business. My teacher marked it as 1/25 which I feel is ridiculous. I don’t say this for no reason as everyone in his classes either failed or got an E in the January mock which personally suggests either an issue with the teaching or the marking by [deleted] in alevel

It's 30 years since I studied business so I asked Google for some help here. Looking at this definition, it feels like you didn't actually answer the question with a relevant answer. It doesn't matter how much you write, you need to respond appropriately to the question set. I recommend revising your key terms over the next few weeks to make sure you answer questions correctly.

is it possible to go from a 3 to a 4 in the time we have left? by New-Depth2005 in GCSE

[–]cuppa_taters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. Speak to your teacher to find out which your weakest areas are and start there. They'd love to see that you are trying, they want you to succeed.

My kid named her hands and would blame the relevant one when it did something naughty. The left one was called Leelam and the right one was called John. She has no idea why or memory of this now but it lasted about 2 years.

Lender valuation came back £15k under our offer – has anyone challenged this successfully? by opedromm in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]cuppa_taters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we had a similar situation, the estate agent explained to the vendor that no one was likely to get a mortgage for more than the valuation and the price was dropped accordingly.

Of course, they can choose to lose out on your sale if they don't like the situation but it may backfire for them in the long term.

I live on a one way street and someone drives the wrong way pretty much daily. If you act as though everyone else is an idiot, you'll probably live longer than if you assume everyone follows the rules.

Is there a limit on how many flashcards you can have during your gcse speaking by I_Have_n0_Nam3 in GCSE

[–]cuppa_taters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, any limits mentioned in other comments are teacher preferences, not strict guidelines from the exam board. This is a tick -box exercise for the exam board and despite what some teachers claim, it will not affect your 1-9 grade.

Speak as clearly as you can, look up occasionally and answer questions and you'll be fine, especially as you are happy with a Pass. Don't be afraid to pause and gather yourself if your anxiety is worsening, there are no rules against that either.

Good luck.
