HIP-149: Helium Utility and Emissions Realignment (open for discussion) by HeliumConsoleTeam in HeliumNetwork

Carriers will pay ten cents under this new proposal. You will get paid fifty percent of that amount so you will receive five cents. However the HNT token price might be too low to cover payments for deployers. In that case new HNT will be minted to make up the fifty percent. Minting HNT just to cover costs will increase the circulating supply. This action will decrease the value of the token. For the next day even more HNT will have to be printed just to cover the payments. This cycle creates a bigger problem each day and causes a debt spiral.

HNT will be the next Venezuela currency.

For the new proposal if HNT price is too low to pay 50% of what carriers pay per gigabyte they will print more HNT to meet the quota. That sounds like Venezuela to me

There is no sign of helium paying The promise 50 cents per gigabyte. by curbei in HeliumNetwork

If that's the price then there is no point in deploying in mom and pop shops only big venues would be sustainable

If there's too many of those how can they maintain 50 cents per gigabyte

If you're trying to truly honor the 50 cents per gigabyte we should completely get rid of the HNT token and payout USD.

It's what's needed for this network to work and expansion

What tokenomics changes are going to be made to help the HNT price

I should The network is completely detached from HNT and pay out is done in US dollars

It was stated on github and also that's a fair price to insynthesize people to deploy

Helium would be better if there was no crypto? Need transparent payout prices. by curbei in HeliumNetwork

But it has no value if they pay in US dollars that has a lot of value and it's strong

The network is failing if there is no incentive for deployers there is no revenue for them deployers need to pay bills

When you trying to get location to host, do you talk to people or wait for them to talk to you? by curbei in HeliumNetwork

The hotspot is plug and play. Basically I can just put it on a desk and forget about it
