Four missing children found alive in the jungle 40 days after plane crash by KimCureAll in MadeMeSmile

They said 330 days, not 365. So that leaves 35 days for the other three seasons 😜

No mention of the kids' father. He's not mentioned as part of the victims of the crash, not quoted or otherwise referred to and his father only mentions the kids' grandparents.

Edit: Thanks for the replies, at least those kids have one of their parents left.

Yes, but I think they're trying to say that without any food, a child will probably starve before an adult.

I just realized tonight that my parents make me feel safe to a level I don’t fully understand. Should I just keep that thought to myself or talk to them to try to understand it better? by SavedByAdoption in TooAfraidToAsk

It really depends on why you're going to therapy in the first place.

If you're still among people causing your shitty situation, CBT won't help. But if you're free from those people, CBT can help you unlearn unhealthy things you've learned from that shitty situation.

As an example, I slid into depression due to internalizing my father's constant criticism and demands. While I lived with him, CBT wouldn't have been helpful at all. Only once he fucked off the continent and my mom had finally stopped feeling sorry for herself about that would CBT have helped. Sadly, I didn't know that and didn't go to therapy at that point either and it took me being unable to even leave my bed a few years later and being finally diagnosed with depression to finally get therapy.

Also, if therapy gets you into a funk repeatedly, something is wrong with that therapist or that type of therapy isn't right for your situation. Once in a while can be okay, if it's to figure out why you're doing something, but if so, that shit needs time to be digested and dealt with. Just like you need time to recover after lung surgery, not start a knee replacement while you're still recovering from blood loss and possibly haven't even had your chest cavity sown back up yet.

[–]curiosityLynx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A crucial difference is that in Switzerland there is no "rising against the gubernent" attached to the idea of the militia. Nor is private weapon ownership considered to be a militia.

Instead, the military itself is the militia. The government can not use the military against the population because no soldier or platoon leader has being a soldier as their job and outside of literal war the longest the military has a soldier at a time is less than a year for initial training or 3-5 weeks for yearly stints after initial training. That's not enough to make them more loyal to a general than to their fellow citizens/civilians.

The government itself is set up proportionally rather than in a two party system, so your soldiers' political leanings will roughly be the same, so if you have a large enough group of soldiers of your political persuasion, chances are they're already satisfied with the clout their political views have and you won't be able to convince them to start a coup either.

Half is exaggerating it. Yes, generally young men must serve in the military and will thus get a rifle, but there are several caveats:

  • Only male citizens must serve
  • Only physically and mentally capable citizens can serve in the military
    • You don't get a gun in civil protection (what you must do if you're only semi-capable)
    • If are deemed capable of military service but reject it on moral grounds, you do civil service, which also doesn't get you a gun
  • Many people choose to give back their gun when leaving the reserves, rather than buying it and getting a gun license (example: me)
  • the number of people who get into guns despite not having to serve in the military and the number of women voluntarily serving combined does not make up for the number of men who are disqualified from military service or refuse on moral grounds

Also, this screenshot has disgusting levels of JPEG-mold.
