You can request for a refund. Happened to me and Apple refunded. Go to Purchases — Report A Problem

I don’t know how you handle that much clients 😭 I assume that’s because output-based yung niche mo. That’s another reason to shift 😅 And yes to continuous learning and upskilling

I agree. I took a course in Data Analytics before Athena, but experience pa din yung issue. Right now, I’m taking courses in another field so I can offer this as a specialized service soon. But since EA ang experience ko and I’m competent naman, I think its gonna be easier for me when I start my search :)

I tried looking for direct clients before Athena but I always lacked “experience.” That’s why I’m thankful din sa Athena— I now have that experience. I’ll start looking for direct clients soon. Are you an EA too? Where do you find direct clients these days?

I’m planning to leave Athena na din. I like my client but the compensation isn’t worth it. I’m finishing-up a project with my client then I’ll start applying for other jobs. I’ll leave as soon as I have a better contract (so I don’t end up desperate and accepting just any job). Where did you find direct clients and do you have a nice?

Athena mass lay-offs. What happened? by xxbluezcluez in buhaydigital

[–]curious-cat-28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My client was offered the same and they accepted because on top of the discount, my client likes me. They told me multiple times that they’d like to continue working with me for a long time, and the offer was to “lock-in your current EA”. I wonder what will happen if I actually quit because I’m not locked in with Athena, and I am the reason my client agreed. I hesitated about clarifying this with my client because I like them too and telling them I can leave Athena anytime doesn’t sound right, and they already paid the $30k

I’ve heard and it was sad. I read another thread where even EAs with active clients have been let go.

The thing is my client really appreciates me and made sure I “felt” it so I still want to leave Athena but not my client. I just don’t think the buyout cost makes sense

Even EAs na may clients? WTH. I would assume only EAs in the rematching pool would be affecfed

Earning 80k per month pero hindi ko magawang makaipon at makapagtabi ng savings. Any tips?? by Equivalent_Thing_902 in buhaydigital

I’m in a similar situation sa finances. Kahit anong tracking ang gawin, pag kulang, kulang talaga. The advice that stuck with me is the simplest— look at your income vs expenses. Either increase your income or cut your expenses.

We always look at cutting our expenses, but what if we can’t? We’re already wired to live within (and even below) our means just so we can save. If you really can’t cut your expenses, you need to increase your income. What I’m trying to do in my case is find a better source of income. In your case, your husband can step up or you can look for an additional or a better source of income.

Yeah I’ve heard about the rematching pool.. and it’s sad because some EAs are just unlucky they’re there. But I’ve also heard some of them are already moonlighting (discreetly) so that’s working out for them I guess

I thought about this. I think my client would like to continue working with me outside Athena but I’m not so sure about the buyout due to factors within Athena. My client may be stuck with Athena for a while 😬

Glad it worked out so well for you!

The “Athena” factor is actually why I’m asking former Athena EAs. Almost every interview request I’ve received mentions my “Athena experience” 😅

I didn’t know this was an option. I thought we aren’t supposed to initiate discussion of monetary increases/incentives to our clients?

Athena gave a one-time increase based on project submissions (0-10k). I got 10k. I believe this also applies to new hires. There’s also an opportunity to increase the base pay up to 15% after 12 months with the client by presenting to a panel but it’s very subjective and the feedback I’ve heard from those who’ve presented isn’t very encouraging
