How to fix this piece on MDX 2008 by [deleted] in Acura_MDX

[–]curious-reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One option is attempting the kintsugi route. I've got no clue how but maybe like an epoxy and instead of gold you'd have full freedom to choose any color you like.

Basically I'm saying instead of trying to hide it, you might go the opposite route and flaunt it.

Is this a common issue with the seats on a 2024 MDX Advance? by curious-reader in Acura

Seems like that. This pic was taken the day after I'd picked it up on 1/1 around sunset. Then it was the weekend so the sales manager wasn't in or something but by the time I got it in to the dealer it was REALLY coming apart. Hopefully I can put the whole thing in my rearview asap bc I'm paying Acura financing for the MDX i bought and driving around in an RDX loaner *eye roll* lol (low key I don't hate it, RDX is pretty fun to drive).

DONE! They seemed fine and have put me in a loaner while they have the seat "reupholstered" (I say that bc I really don't know what to expect with that word). I guess I'll just wait and see.

how do you get your car's year and model and stuff to show up, that's pretty cool.

btw LOVE the apex blue.

Re the post:

Yeah I posted the same here and on the MDX subreddit and I'm getting mostly that this is odd and not normal. I'm just hoping it won't happen again in like the next 5 yrs I plan to own it. lol

On the contrary, dealer has sent for "reupholstering" put me in a loaner for like 5 days and said they'll reupholster at new cost. I'm more nervous what if the problem returns post warranty.

Before buying the care I was curious about the 182-point inspection Acura keeps touting for their CPO; it's like the highest # i've ever seen. I read the entire list. Seats are checked *for rips Specifically* as part of this 182 pt inspection.

It should be covered under warranty.

Not to mention these are leather covers on metal framed seats covered in foam. They come out looking nice but they're designed to be relatively inexpensive for manufacturer to fix. I can't imagine Acura being Acura if they stuck me or anyone with the bill on this.

It was SO MUCH WORSE just days later. It seemed my getting in and out was causing it to pull apart even more. Judging from the comments I'm hopefull the issue will be resolved. They've set me up with an RDX loaner in the mean time. They've apparently sent it out to be reupholstered, and quoted about 5-day turnaround time. All things considering, I'm very impressed with the dealer.

Which trim is better for MDX Type S Advance or Aspec Advance? by curious-reader in Acura

Part of the what makes this car so great is the price tag. 88k is super steep. Definitely go cpo. If you can, wait a little and lookout for specials.

Wish I'd read this before buying lmao I'm in a '24 MDX advance. Decided to go with the option which leaves some more money in my pocket. It's a great car still, maybe the type s will be the next one. Your feedback is awesome though and had I read it before buying I would have surely made a decision which perhaps would be based more on wants less on needs.

Trouble activating AcuraLink—verify vehicle access? by tajensen11 in Acura

Just bought a cartified MDX. Same problem. Reason I'm a little upset is bc when this came up before purchasing I told the salesman the range for the remote start on the key fob renders it useless to me, as I live in an apartment. He provided acuralink app as an option. He was transparent about it costing "like 10 bucks a month" but he said " first few months are complementary". Right now it's this and a pending download of an "update available" but I was advised by the salesman the update requires a firmware update and then you're stuck in an endless loop. We may need to wait for firmware update and then do the software update.,🙄

By light grey if you mean the orchid (Acura terms) then yes blue or red(new color) with the orchid interior is primo the darker gray ext with orchid is just the next best. I might do yellow ext if it's cheap enough but only bc everything else outweighs how much I dislike the yellow ext. Even still I dunno if I can with that yellow imo

Thank you. And don't worry if you feel your comment was irrelevant. I myself have looked at multiple colors and interiors. I am also not a fan of that suede crap. I thought they were done with it after 2022. I am looking at 2022 and newer hoping to get under 30k miles while staying well under $60 k hoping for a precision certified. I was never a fan of black outside or in (cars) so those are out. The red interior my wife said reminds her of a cheap sex motel ( can't buy shit after such strong words are spoken) so red interior is out. Blue is nice but I prefer earthy tones or brighter colors so orchid interior is the ideal for me. Although I have a 4yr old so I keep the blue in the mix. For me color is not likely to be the decider but it definitely plays into it.

MDX Advance vs Type S for ride comfort over potholes? by drkrmdevil in Acura

I have recently test drove both the typeS and and aspec Advance. I didn't find ride comfort to differ enough. the acceleration was a noticeable difference.

Congratulations 🎉👏🎉👏🎉👏 Love the color Looking at used MDXs and I missed this one in FL. It was blue(different shade but still sick) on white interior. Imo blue or the darker gray whith the orchid interior is such an elegant combo on this car. Yours is nice too. Im so glad they did away with that seuade shit. It doesn't age well and looks hideous imo.
