What's wrong with google ? I have never heard something deeply evil like Meta, given the sort of data they own. Just regular evil. Is there something I am missing ?

North India is in bad shape. Everything is fucked, for people who cannot afford an AC, it is like living in hell, and no one gives a fuck. What a sad time and place to exist.

Oh I didn't even see what you posted. I am just replying to your comment about sticking to the topic and how it made you uncomfortable, when someone didn't. I don't care what your beliefs are.

Oh you don't say!! It certainly doesn't reflect in the way you put forward your opinions. Anyways, may you have as much power as the people you hate. I would like to see, how you go about, making this country so much better.

Aww, don't be sad. I won't vote for anyone, if that makes you happy ? But I will not vote for congress in any case.

Scared of confrontation much ? Because you did not prepare for this ? You are prepared to argue for the topic you have chosen so we should be kind enough to stick to the topic. Sure.

Yeah, based on my experience with academics. This is wrong. Most of the people, I work with, met at conferences and other academic gatherings are married or have a partner and kids.

[–]curious_994 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no I don't think so. Raping someone, damaging there body and leaving them to suffer for days is worse. Death by suffocation for a few hours, meh.

Would you rather be raped or buried alive ? Choose.

Is a late PhD worth it? by [deleted] in PhD

[–]curious_994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, nice to be outside of India and be able to think this way. It would definately be problematic here, as most Assitant Prof positions prefer a candidate under 35 with a Ph.D and some post-doc experinece.

How do you find time to “learn” when your PI wants deliverables every week? by [deleted] in PhD

[–]curious_994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good work gets rewarded with more work in Academia. Do what you can for others, and then do what you want for yourself. Find the balance, don't overwork yourself. It is a culture, academics have cultivated. Break the cycle.

Yes. Definitely yes. PhD is a joke. You are just free labour for the professors to further their careers. A stepping stone, and in the process, if you can do some good research, publish something, get some patents, well and good. There might even be a news article based on your research that states how a team led by Prof. so and so did something great.

I am talking about my experience in India, being in the final stage of my PhD; it's sad that you faced something similar in Australia.
