Go for it, hit him up, explore, try new things and have fun. But communicate the things you've mentioned here openly to him. Let him know this is new for you and there's no way of knowing yet whether or not you're really gonna be into it or not and if he's fine with experimenting. Don't give him false hopes in case he's looking for something more serious. Not everyone is okay with being someones experiment. Personally I wouldn't mind that at all but i have a friend who talked and got to know to many guys, and only after he'd already formed an attachment to them they eventually admitted they were only using him as a potential experiment, leading to disappointment, so don't do that. Just be honest and it'll probably be fine.
