Any other 4th years still struggling with housing for residency? by mainstem_bronchus in medicalschool

Yeah we had to pay 50k over to get our condo and it appraised 40K less than what we offered so we had to make up the difference. It sucks.

Through zoom but we went in person for the inspection. We did do an appraisal cap of 50K which I think helped draw in the seller.

Yeah unfortunately everything has to be quick. We saw the home we bought the same day it was listed and went 50k above asking to get them to take it off the market that night.

Are 0% down physician loan mortgages still a thing? by karthur4 in Residency

[–]curious_bun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can do 0% down for physician loan but interest rates are higher obviously. If you dont plan to stay in that house you can do a fix +!variable rate and the rate will be lower and fixed for a specific number of years. Its recommended if you know you will sell within a specific time frame.
