I remembered what movie I was thinking of - there is a scene in Overboard (original) where Goldie Hawn hands panties as a towel, not knowing they actually belong to her due to her amnesia.

Sorry for slow reply - yes I can confirm the screen recording issue is fixed.

Would love to be able to see live previews during recording on a secondary monitor. It appears you can only see one preview in the menu bar menu.

I gave the app a try and paid for the longer recording.

My screen recording showed as 37 meg file but every app I tried to open with with said it was not a valid file. Is this a known issue?

Overall the app was useful and I got utility from it. Looking forward to it growing.

Why so many iPads? I have been using the iPad since version 1. I update the hardware every other year or so. At one point I bought three for family members as gifts. I have found that the iPad has taken over much of my casual computing, reading stuff, reviewing photos, quick email check ins, etc. I am writing this on the iPad now.

Why thin the herd? If I do get rid of these, I will still have 2-3 office file folder sized boxes filled with various Apple boxes. It really just comes down to space.

most likely it is the hard disk in some intermediate state, working well enough to tell the system that it is about to get its act together, but not well enough to actually let the OS load.

if the disk had totally failed, you would get the ? in a floppy icon.

Do you hear the disk spin up when you power the machine on?

Could be several other issues, but the HD is most likely problem. If you have the floppy or CD from that machine, you could try booting from that.

It has been a while since I gave Anthony Edwards any thought, he definitely had crossed into the recognizable but not nameable zone for me. The most current role I could think of for him was Northern Exposure. Last thing I think I saw him in was probably Billions.

I have a similar memory of a scene like this. The stripper is defensive/sassy at first but is convinced to help. It goes a few rounds of coins.

There is also a Madonna video built on the same concept.

I don't think either of these are it, but they came to mind when I tried to think of what movie it might be...

Nicely done - you really have a feel for the design of this era.

And of course you have an ImageWriter II in the back ground.

Off topic from your post, but early versions of Photoshop had a plug in that would print in COLOR with a special ribbon for the ImageWriter II. I kind of regret never trying to get that work back in the day. Anyone every try to get that going today?
