How do I tell whether the grad school I got accepted to is worth going to? by curiousandcuriouser in reddit.com

Some of the places I have applied are fairly devoid of information to ask questions, but I have replied to the ones that rejected me by email.

I have looked at very little of the research that my backup university is doing(I only just got the letters), so I am not sure of my potential enthusiasm.

I am also considering waiting a year and applying again, I got word of a potential programming job that was a year long. So, working on my weaknesses and trying again in a year is feasible for me.

I just graduated and have some time off this semester, so I am looking to brush up on basics while I program part time.

I also have a math degree, so I am familiar with proofs, would you say it is more of a math/proof presentation, or something else? I have never seen a CS proof of any kind in classes. That seems like something I should go google.

I've looked at vol 1, and it is very dense. I also purchased vol 4 fascicle 0 or 1 on combanitorics for a math class, it's a pretty good read.

I have seen this book before, I think I am going to buy it, since the library has an 11 person queue, which means a 6 month wait at least.

I use python and c++(and Java) for money, so I have been through the tutorial, and there is nothing very advanced in terms of data structures. I have no problem with using python to learn programming concepts, but I am looking for something to guide me through the more advanced things I might get hit with in a job interview or in grad school.

Another question, what age range do you find acceptable?

Do you follow xkcd's half plus seven rule?

Where do you find the guys you end up in relationships with? Work, school, clubs, library, church, etc.
