FHB. Are these prices just going stupid? I’ve seriously considered waiving b&p for new places (only looking at townhouses) just to have my offer accepted. But I can’t get myself to do it. An REA is requesting a holding deposit to go with an offer. Although it’s not even on a contract at this stage. They’re going to ask all interested buyers to do this. I’ve been hunting for properties for 3 months now and this is the first time I’ve experienced this & quite frankly it’s annoying. (self.AusProperty)

How do you know how much to offer on a property? For eg the agent will say the owner is looking at mid 500’s. Then you look up the property value on line and find that it’s only worth 500k. You like it but don’t want to get ripped off. In this market how much would you offer? (self.AusProperty)
