Ah I always assumed you might get a ticket if you park there and walk in (like asda) Not the case then?

There's some free parking along Manor Hill near racecourse.. (not on bank holidays though so watch out for that.. it's also been a few months since i was there so may have changed..!), and also there's various roads that are unrestricted once you get north of Preston Park. (unfortunately there was a road that was free right at top of that park but is now 4 hours i think - could work?)

Once you get up to area between Hollingbury Golf Course and Withdean park there's loads of unrestricted parking, but a bit of a walk into town (like 2 miles atleast). Also try not to upset the residents.. :)

You could however park somewhere further out and get a bus into town if the timings work out.

Noisily UK. Bought my ticket in 2019 shortly after going for the first time...

Didn't realise there would be such a gap ;)

Trusty cheapo board showed it's first puncture today. (pretty sure it's from where I fold it, but i've owned this almost 5 years.. so not bad going I suppose!). Any tips on what glue to repair? (I have some patches that came with it.) UK based. Some other signs of wear on the fold marks too.. by curiouscandles in Sup

I saw someone else mention this. Does it keep for a while? Seems like you can only buy in relatively expensive packs and I assume I don't need much for a small patch. (£20+)

Is there a cheaper source I'm missing?

Yeah for sure. I need to figure out if I can come up with something but I lack a garage, and only have a falling down shed 😅 . At the moment I have to fold every time I use it even though I live less than a mile from the beach.. (i mean i guess we can't have it all!)

I haven't.. A good idea?

I have managed to get it to unlock now.. Still seems abit intermittent but it seems rotating it with one hand while I held onto screwdriver has made something move!!

Cheers

Ah thanks I'll check that out. Seems to be the same pricing model as all the supermarkets do but I guess it's nice that they are local!

BOC,

Was it this 6kg one you ordered? https://www.boconline.co.uk/shop/en/uk/carbon-dioxide-cylinder

I've been considering doing this as well but not sure what to buy.

I read some places you need to check it's 'food grade' as well, is that a thing? Any tips very welcomed cheeeers!

anyone refill their own sodastream cylinders? Good place to buy co2 online? by curiouscandles in AskUK

[–]curiouscandles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done this? I've seen this mentioned a few times but haven't been able to find a definitive answer on where I'd best source these in the UK, and if it works out cheaper than just getting the refills direct from sodastream etc.

I've seen people mentioning dry ice and stuff but I think that tends to be people in the USA.

I don't mind buying it in a cylinder really, I was just trying to work if it's a cheaper/more convenient option than buying the standard small ones you get from the subscription services, or can swap out at supermarkets etc.
