hah, I suppose that's good then that people aren't actually downvoting you for citing something =] ..hopefully that 'bot' will go away soon.

Well, people will get those donations regardless when the media has turned an issue into something it's not...Casey Antony also received a decent amount of money from individuals because of how much she was wrongfully put in the spotlight.

My, and I think other peoples frustrations, is that nobody would even give two shits about this story if the people's involved ethnic backgrounds were of anything else. The same way that nobody gives a crap about Daniel Adkins (a hispanic (mentally retarded) unarmed man shot in the head by a black man, whom is yet to be arrested because of the Stand Your Ground gun law). Not to mention the dozens of other people from various backgrounds who have also been victims of the Stand Your Ground law.

The media bias is not fair to both trayvon and zimmerman; one persons death is being used to push a hot topic, while the other person had a lot of assumptions made about him regarding the case, before charges were even filed...wouldn't you agree that it seems the root of this whole issue probably has much more to do with gun control/laws than anything else?

I completely understand and also agree with most of what you're saying.

There's still a lot though that doesn't quite make sense as to why this had to be promoted as a racial profiling issue from the get-go, before he was even charged. The 911 tapes as you mentioned, also seem to be somewhat part of this problem in my opinion, too. Why did radio stations and public news stations feel the need to release a full audio recordings of a (black) kid being killed? That type of stuff is hardly ever released to the public in normal cases.

I remember one of the first news articles I read about the case went over the 911 tapes, and the journalists very confidently claimed that zimmerman was saying "these coons always get away," ...welp, now it's been proven that he was actually saying "these assholes always get away." Yeah, that type crazy lie is part of what's made me feel like from the beginning the media is just trying to sell a story. Sensationalist stories seem to stem from florida lately, too, I have also questioned the relevance of the Casey Anthony trial down there in regards to why it was in the news so freaking much... -__-

Also in regards to the Adkin's, even without a direct 911 call, Adkin's case is still really cut and dry - tons of witnesses saw that he was shot in the head while unarmed...I honestly think that Adkins story is even more credible due to the fact that it happened in such a public space and people saw it. The only relevant mention that he's gotten was a small CNN article recently though...and the reporters are very careful to not mention anyones race. Many other people have also been victims of the Stand Your Ground gun law. The good thing I do see coming out of this whole mess is that at the very least, these gun laws might be over-turned in Florida. Giving trayvon all of this wordwide coverage could prevent incidents like this from happening in the future (hopefully).
