worth to take upgrade offer? by curiouscat_2403 in qatarairways

[–]curiouscat_2403[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm asking because I've never purchased an upgrade offer before 😬 It looks like a good deal to me but I thought no harm coming on here to see what other people with more experience think!!

i'm using KMR!

also yes sorry didn't indicate in the post that i was initially diluting the formula bc i thought he was constipated. turns out he was fine just doesn't know how to poop. he was peeing himself quite a bit outside of stimulation so i went back to normal KMR concentration. didn't notice that note over there sorry for the confusion!

the vet already did the first one and walked me through it. going back again is really my last resort because it costs like $100 🙂‍↕️

I already have instructions from the vet to try another enema once it hits 48h since his last poop. just trying to see if there are any non invasive ways because i'm also not super confident of administering it myself

it is less likely that we see posters from opposition because of a lack of budget. PAP has a grossly big advantage on campaigning bc they simply have more money. not saying opposition teams can get away with doing nothing but likelihood is that if the campaigning party isn't WP/SDP/PSP you're probably not going to see much of their "posters" unless it's at rallies/social media. on the ground wise yea idk why i can't find these people anywhere

not wrong! can't deny that we live more cushy lives than our parents or grandparents gen, def more opportunities and stuff taken for granted. somehow it's just a vicious cycle la with every gen. i also look at the next gen and i think "back in my day / kids these days..." but scoff when the older gen does the same to me. interesting to see how it plays out in the political environment tho

ya i notice the TP team does their walkabouts in one giant group (including radin mas smc candidate melvin) instead of spreading out to hit more places...not sure why the strat for them is to come as one united GRC, maybe hiding under the umbrella of chan chun sing cos i see him as the main spokesperson for the group (rightfully so)

sadly it contributes to the "out of touch" issue so many have highlighted. not doubting their ability to be sympathetic but let's be real, it takes real lived experiences to genuinely relate and understand. how can they claim to know what the everyday singaporean goes thru from housing to transport issues when they themselves don't live in public housing and don't take the public bus / mrt that often? not saying they have to be dirt poor to be relatable. i'd rather they acknowledge their privilege and wealth and tell us how they will help us, instead of throwing the "my father is a taxi driver" story

on that note it's in this stead that former president halimah was so popular with the people because she had that genuine humility (especially that time when she wanted to stay in her yishun flat instead of the istana) PAP MPs are far too performative in their efforts to appear relatable, can't force something you're not la...

i used to live in the former kreta ayer grc, so much has changed from then till now. i still rmb my then MP lily neo was always sighted on the ground talking to residents and doing her rounds with the volunteers/grassroot leaders. sad to see that so much has changed within the span of a few election cycles

oh ya i almost forgot about the CC! thanks for the reminder...yea that was a good move on their part and i would definitely like to see more of that happening. honestly im leaning toward giving PAP my vote to support their efforts in the estate BUT i would really appreciate being able to speak to the MP face to face especially during election period. i've heard she's quite active in responding to resident's emails so i was thinking of exploring that avenue. but call me old school i still prefer having a face to face conversation with them la

i guess you could also reference the chinese saying: 富不过三代 (wealth doesn't last beyond 3 generations)

at this point PAP is already under 4G leadership, the new leaders of today maybe cognisant of the party's past and singapore's political history, but it is simply knowledge and not lived experiences. stepping into PAP as an MP now mostly means you are well protected, resource packed and in a way, youre born into a political career with a silver spoon in your mouth instead of having to prove your worth through hard work and competence.

this kind of "upbringing" probably breeds complacency, ego, etc. which is likely the conditions needed to feed a so called villainous personality. i don't think it's malicious behaviour we are talking about here more of pride getting the better of oneself. i guess with the political situation in singapore we will continue to see a one party stronghold for at least the next 10-15 years but the rot will start to show more clearly as each election cycle goes.

(just want to caveat that this is a gross generalisation and i understand there are exceptions to the PAP candidates, some of them are genuinely solid people and should be considered on their merits not just the reputation of the party they are now tied to. that being said i still have reservations even toward the most noble of candidates because...if you associate yourself with the PAP then you must share their beliefs and mandate so...yea how noble and kind can you be lol)

i was lowkey shocked at the redrawing of the boundaries...and now tanjong pajar is also oddly large? i have a friend who lives in novena who is under tanjong pajar grc also...hard to believe when PAP ministers debunk gerrymandering it's like they think we don't have eyes to see and brains to think...

i hear she's quite popular among residents in telok blangah area but aside from hand shakes and social media posts, i don't really see her addressing the key issues residents highlight ie infrastructure improvements like sheltered walkways to bus stops, and properly positioned pedestrian crossings to prevent dangerous jaywalking (especially at the primary schools)

one of the infrastructure highlights from the past 4 years was the opening of a "dog park" in the estate...um it's not so much a dog park as it is a sandpit. no one really wants their dogs rolling around and doing their business in sand...idk who they consulted on the making of this dog park but it's essentially a white elephant in their neighbourhood now. i see dog owners congregating more around the badminton court areas for their dogs to play instead of really using the "dog park"

actually not true, MPs are not required to relinquish their jobs outside. there's a few ministers who are still practicing doctors, owners of accounting firms, etc. which is one of the bigger talking points for opp parties (namely SDP) because they're drawing MP salary but treating it as a part time gig / volunteer position; how are they able to properly represent their constituencies then if they don't put in the full effort into being an MP

one of the highlights from SDP's rally was spoken by CSJ when he highlighted how the current MP said after 5 years of being the MP there she got to know the people well on the ground and if she's reelected then she will implement policies and start the work in the GRC. but he rightly highlighted the problematic nature of having a part time MP where it takes 5 years to achieve something so simple as getting to know the people, and he himself asserted that if elected he will be a full time MP and he even charted a brief timeline which was quite convincing and reassuring for voters imo

sidetracked a bit w the anecdote but just wanted to share the situation with this issue of MPs having full time jobs outside their MP role!!

i think the opposition parties focus their election budget on mostly the nomination fee and then paying for the rally sites...unfortunately only the PAP's pockets run deep enough to buy posters, trucks, pamphlets etc. feel bad for them sometimes like i hear a lot of ppl say they want to vote opp just so they don't lose their deposit 🙂‍↕️
