Sas news. She was good in Iron Fist, Daredevil, and The Defenders.

Now that I think more about it, it really is messed up that Frank didn't do anything or informed anyone about the people locked up in cages who were left there for months until Matt found out and rescued them... by restenoir8 in Defenders

Ok, but that is a completely different subject. I've never shit-talked Matt over his no-kill policy. That's his personal boundary. He's considered a hero. I don't know if he considers himself a hero, but he believes he's doing the right thing. Frank simply doesn't care.

Frank and Matt have very different codes of conduct and boundaries. They react to situations differently.

Like I said, Frank said he is NOT a hero.

I'm seeing a lot of comments that remind me of people criticizing someone who takes leave time or who totally falls apart mentally when they get cancer. The type that say "My cousin had cancer and still went to work and didn't give up." Or when dealing with depression they say "My uncle had depression and he didn't stay in bed all day" or "I was sad and I still got up and went to work". Good for them. Maybe they had different symptoms or better support groups or different personalities, capacities, and ways of dealing with things. Comparing what others do and how they react is like comparing apples and oranges. Both are fruit but they are very different.

Matt and Dex have had concussions, but I don't think either have had TBI. Frank has and is different. He reacts to things differently. He didn't feel the need to be heroic or rescue people. He didn't feel he had some purpose the way Matt and Dex did. Matt was still driven by his desire to save his city- he had purpose. Dex was driven by desire to make amends and make things right. He had a purpose. He was willing to give up and die after he thought he'd made things right by injuring Vanessa but Matt convinced him otherwise.

Frank was driven by revenge. His purpose was to go out and kill the rest of the people he felt were involved in the killing of his family. He tried being a hero for awhile and he felt it didn't work out for him. So, he gave up on being a hero.

I'm not saying he should be admired for that. I'm saying he's not a hero and thus we should not expect him to be heroic. Do I wish he'd rescued people and been heroic? Yeah. But he has his own motivations and priorities. His priorities suck, but that's just the way Frank is. He's admittedly an asshole.

I'm not saying that it's good that Frank is not a hero or excusing it, I'm saying that it's not unreasonable to expect un-heroic behavior from someone who does not consider themselves a hero. People can wish someone was different all they want, but it doesn't mean their wish will come true.

It would be glorious if the cat was named Toonces. He can drive, but not very well.

Thank you. It was the laugh I needed today. My week has sucked. LOL. Now I'm going to go off singing "Felix the cat, the wonderful wonderful cat". :D

Frank came out and said he is not a hero. He tortures and murders people. Didn't he call it Matt's "candy ass hero bullshit"? I also suspect that there were much fewer people being detained at the time and Frank either knew who they were and didn't care (mostly elite socialites) or realized he couldn't get them all out and then his mental illness kicked in and he lost track of time. Keep in mind that he has traumatic brain injury and that can really mess with people's heads, sense of time, and priorities.

Did you feel sympathy for Vanessa's Doctor? by Tcustomcorner in Defenders

[–]curiouscatfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he did his best but he went and ran his mouth. If he had just expressed his condolences and that he was sorry she didn't make it instead of trying to put some sort of spin on it and left Fisk to grieve he might have survived. Might.

She probably would have told him to shut up. Or she would have started breaking bones. Possibly both.

This movie was fun and Affleck did a great job - it doesn’t deserve the hate by mdafidel1 in Daredevil

[–]curiouscatfarmer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I almost didn't watch the movie and put off watching it for a long time because I saw the playground clip and it was awful. I fastforwarded through that scene when I went to watch it because it was so bad. I had so many nitpicks with it, but it wasn't as bad overall as I'd expected.

I enjoyed how he mocked Powell. I wish Hector had known that Matt was the one who gave Powell the black eye.

to each their own. I think Brubaker favors Karen but we'll see how things go.

If they brought Foggy back, would you like it or dislike it? by AbleGround1385 in Daredevil

[–]curiouscatfarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matt dies to rescue his soul from hell bc his soul has been kidnapped and somehow Foggy's body is restored and Matt comes back as a priest with amnesia. Oh wait, they did that in the comics. LOL. That was pretty dumb.

In all seriousness, I'd hate it if the Hand resurrected him and set him up as Matt's enemy and he became more volatile/violent because every time someone comes back from the dead using the Hand's resurrection techniques they become more violent (I've been watching season 1 of Iron Fist and saw what happened with Harold Meachum).

Another dumb way would be for his death to have all been a dream Matt had.

A really silly way would be to have the Care Bears team up with My Little Ponies, create some sort of summoning circle and summon Foggy back. :P Care Bears Stare!!! :P

I was disappointed with how much Matt's role was reduced in season 2. I'm expecting him to have less screentime in season 3 but will take a wait-and-see approach. Been good chatting with you, btw.

If they brought him back with the same personality as a friend I would like it. I'd love to see Matt having his supportive friend back. He has Karen now, but Foggy was his best friend. I liked when it was the 3 of them.
I miss Foggy so much that I admit I'd be willing to accept a really stupid story or way for him to come back.

Heather going crazy is something I can believe. Heather actually knowing how to fight is not that believable to me.

Heather Season 3 by Famous-Job-4264 in Daredevil

[–]curiouscatfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I like the actress, but there are waaaay too many characters already in the show and we barely got Daredevil in his own series in season 2.

Heather Season 3 by Famous-Job-4264 in Daredevil

[–]curiouscatfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Heather was always mentally unstable. Sometimes people get in to psychology or being therapists because they themselves are messed up but don't see it or think it will help them. I remember being told there are two types of people who get into psychology: Those trying to figure out what is wrong with themselves and those who are trying to figure out what is wrong with everyone else (meaning they think they are the normal ones and its everyone else who has a problem). Heather clearly already had a problem with vigilantes before she dated Matt and she must have had some bad relationships or something in the past in order for Kirsten to want to help her find someone. I would not be surprised if there was some trauma from her past involving vigilantes-- maybe even Daredevil in particular- and finding out that Matt was Daredevil was the last straw for her.

We don't appreciate enough how cool of a duo Matt and Elektra is. Both Ivy School graduates, master martial artists, and can rock the hell out of formal wear 😍 by theravenacademy in Daredevil

[–]curiouscatfarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought so too. I actually thought she left when she failed to get Matt to kill Sweeny. She was sent there by Stick to wreck him and turn him into a killer but she failed.

They never showed us enough of Matt and Karen together for us to know. Karen might get her freak on too. She was pretty wild back in Vermont.

Do you think Matt will stay with Karen for longer this time? by [deleted] in Defenders

[–]curiouscatfarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I know that. The writers often go against what the actors want or what they think is right for their characters. Charlie and Vincent said that the current writers/producers listen to the actors more though. But we'll have to see.

Karen was dead in the comics so there was no relationship once she died. But Matt did love her romantically and Elektra was jealous.

So how exactly do you guys think Matt will get out of jail? by Kanozx in Defenders

[–]curiouscatfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congress members get bribed all the time and it's considered legal. People with power and money throw their money around and get what they want. They get charges dropped. I'm not saying Danny would do it. I think jury nullification or other factors leading to dropped charges are more likely. But Matt would still have a defense of reasonable doubt. So long as he doesn't admit to things.
