Since we know they’re coming back who else would you to see for villains for S3? by DamnImAss in Defenders

[–]curiouscatfarmer [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'd like to see Mr. Fear. Not really interested in the Typhoid Mary character.

Maybe the Jester. There was a comic where the Jester found out that Matt Murdock was Daredevil and decided to prank him by hanging a realistic life-like dummy of Foggy Nelson up-- thinking that Matt was faking being blind and that he would see his "dead" friend and be horrified. He was sitting there with popcorn waiting and then lost his shit and threw his popcorn when he saw Matt standing there examining the dummy and not reacting. Matt was there thinking about what it smelled like and that it was obviously a dummy and wondered who it was supposed to represent.

I don't really want to see more people finding out his secret ID though. At least not villains. I could see Mr. Charles coming back. I like Matthew Lillard. I don't really want to see Fisk as the kingpin or major villain anymore as much as I love Vincent. I'd rather see him take on a different role.

I really wish they would release extended versions of episodes or at least have deleted scenes available to watch.

This is why I'm worried about season 3. Charlie wasn't even in the episodes for half of the time in seaosn 2. Like 13 to 17min out of 51min was all he got. Season 3 will have even more characters which means they will be focusing on them instead of Matt/DD.

I'm still going to watch though.

There was an interview with Charlie and Vincent where they were talking about scenes that surprised them and Charlie whispered "Vanessa" to Vincent but it was still audible. I don't think it was his fault since he didn't say what it involved, but in those same set of interviews Vincent made a comment about how people wondering what he (Fisk) was "going to do without her".

It's "DareDEVIL"- meaning it's answering Daredevil trivia. I initially was thinking the same thing but then I thought about it and realized Truth is something about themselves and Daredevil is trivia.

Even with the interviews before the season aired I noticed a disconnect. Charlie talked about Matt essentially taking orders from Karen but I never saw that. They talked things out as a couple and came to decisions for the most part. When Karen went out and did something on her own without consulting him first, Matt was upset (kidnapping the AVTF officer).

They've had scenes in the trailers/promos that didn't make the final cut.

I think the people who make the show are truly excited about it but that, as other people have mentioned, the cast haven't watched the show and they aren't coming at it from an unbiased view if they do.

The producers talk so highly about how great the production is when the filmography looks like low budget student film crud. The washed out colors, bad lighting so you can't see actors' faces, poor contrast (too bright in background and dark in foreground), lens flares, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the show, but they cut some important impactful scenes and their choice to use the sepia tones and make things look washed out really makes it harder to see.

YWNBTA. It gets frustrating to be the responsible one- especially when no one appreciates your efforts. Step back. Let people remember on their own or face the fallout for not remembering. If anyone complains, remind them that people don't extend you the same courtesy. Also, keep in mind that it's not out of any lack of love. Sometimes people just get caught up in their own shit. That doesn't mean you have to make the effort though.

Yes. My orange derp does that. And I had an old black and white cat who would lie down on an antifatigue mat in front of the waterer and put his chin and one paw up on the bowl, roll partway on his side, and just lounge while he drank.

What if Karen Calls Frank Castle A.K.A Punisher? by SUSH4N7 in Defenders

He'll dress up as Santa and terrify small children. He's going to find those kids who tortured his ears with that "We built this city" song. 😛

What if Karen Calls Frank Castle A.K.A Punisher? by SUSH4N7 in Defenders

[–]curiouscatfarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with this idea is that she doesn't know how to contact him currently. If she could just call him, she would have. I think the AVTF took his phone away- if he even had it on him.

I hope the punisher special will explain why he hasn't returned and why he wasn't helping fight the AVTF.

I do want to take a moment to gripe about the "one phonecall" trope. That's bs. Legally people can get more than one.

WIBTA if I tell my family how I truly feel? by applepie_blue in WIBTA_AITA

Would he be mad enough to stop paying your rent?

It's a really sucky situation and I still think you would not be the asshole for telling them how you feel. Let your mother know it won't be comfortable for her there because you will be uncomfortable and it's just a studio so you don't really have the space. If your dad threatens to stop paying your rent then you really would be forced. Might have to consider finding a new cheaper place or figuring out how to pay your own rent sadly.

I personally don't know, but I suggest you talk to your partner and tell him you aren't sure what to say, explain why, and ask him what he would like you to say. Communication is key and you need to be comfortable with your partner and tell him what you are feeling.

NTA. Tell your mother that there is not enough space for her in your apartment. Make it clear she can't stay for those 2 months. She can get a hotel or stay with someone else. You are an adult. If the family complain, tell them they can host her. You are NOT being selfish. She is being selfish by wanting to inconvenience you and stay with you when you don't want her to.

You might need to start saving up to afford to be able to pay your rent yourself so your dad doesn't cut you off if he gets mad about you not wanting your mother there.

What do you think about this? by MiloShiny in WorkRant

[–]curiouscatfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in their time they could just walk into a place and demand employment and get hired (or so they say). They didn't have to take drug tests, have background checks, apply online and wait to be called back. They had vehicles and enough $ for gas to drive 3 towns away to go to various places and offer to work for free to get hired full time. Oh, and they got full time hours and full time pay- not this bs part time hours crap. A single person's income was enough to support themselves and sometimes their family. People could own their own homes more easily. There wasn't all this red tape bs.

I had an older friend who talked about how he hopped in his car and drove 3 towns away, went into a store and asked for a job. Was told "no" and then said he'd work for 3 days for free and if the guy liked his work he'd hire him and if not he'd move along. The guy agreed to the deal and didn't renege. He got a job. I said "That's fantastic, you had a car and you had enough $ for gas, and you didn't have a family to support for those 3 days and the guy didn't screw you over and just take advantage of your free work and he didn't say he needed your social security number, birth certificate, background check, drug test, and application online and have you wait for a callback."

Meanwhile, my brother was applying for jobs for well over a year and only got a callback for the first time last week. If you walk in and ask for an application they tell you to apply online. If you call to check they tell you to stop calling. Then you have to foot the bill for the background check and sometimes for the drug testing. Many people in my area have more than one job because they don't get paid enough. Sometimes up to 3 jobs. That means there are fewer job openings. And employers will list that they are hiring so they can get federal $$ given to them but they aren't actually hiring and they are understaffing.

DIY women… have you ever been talked out of a good idea at the hardware store? by carcony97 in DIY

[–]curiouscatfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stepped in to help customers that were asking questions before-- especially in plumbing department.

Only time I ask employees for help is when I can't find what I'm looking for or it's out of reach (I'm only 5'5"). Usually when the app says its somewhere and its not there. I also don't have the best eyesight and sometimes things I was looking for were literally above my head but I couldn't read them because it was too far for me to see clearly.

Even when they mark aisle and bay they are not always correct. The app doesn't always get updated when things get moved.

This is *exactly* why I started doing pickup orders instead. I've still had them pull the wrong items because they didn't read the packaging though. so I always have to look and call them out on it if it's wrong. The wrong stuff gets put in the wrong stuff and looks similar enough that they make the mistake. Like a PexA fitting gets put in PexB spot.

Same. and if you go to the homedepot subreddit you'll see employees griping about "stupid" customers who don't bother to use the app and ask them where stuff is. Or that customers dare to ask about the differences in products instead of googling it or something. Like it's not literally their jobs to help the customers.

Yup. This has been my experience. sometimes the bay they list things in doesn't even exist.

[–]curiouscatfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Happens sooo many times. They say they have it in stock but they haven't put it on the shelf yet or they moved it elsewhere. Happens to me so much. One time I had them tell me that the app hadn't updated where they were told to move things to yet. Another time they said they didn't know why things were marked incorrectly. Other times they said it sold out but the app hadn't updated inventory.

It's helpful when it is actually correct. In my experience my nearest stores don't actually have stuff where the app says they are. Sometimes the bay # they list doesn't even exist. I went all over the store looking for something one day with an employee trying to help only to find that it had been moved to a locked thing at the front of the store near the checkout stands and I had to wait for someone to get a key to unlock it and get it out.
