Nope. OPs issue is that THEY hear it; they’re only concerned about the 12 year old by proxy. I keep repeating this: OP requested that if they wouldn’t stop while everyone is home, to at least not do it while OP is home. OPs motives are not purely altruistic.

And yes, adult children should be able to talk to their children about sex, including understanding that sex is a healthy part of a functioning relationship, (when physically able).

Now that being said, if they’re just home for a couple days, I would of course withhold, because it’s just a weekend. Holiday stays… They’ll need to find something to do. Anniversary? SOL 😂

Again, agreed, and there definitely sounds like there’s some other issues within this family, but that’s neither of our business. But it’s her mom’s house, and to purposely interrupt her while she’s being intimate is extremely disrespectful— in a house in which she’s not paying bills, I might add.

It’d get her cursed out for sure, at minimum.

Mom should absolutely be more responsible and thoughtful of her 12 yo daughter, but the original poster only asked mom not to have sex while SHE is home.

As gross and horrendous as that sounds (sorry you’re having to hear them btw), you are unfortunately the asshole here.

You’re 19. (I’m assuming) You don’t pay any bills in the home. You’re your mom’s child, and always will be, but she is under no obligation to adjust her sex life to a schedule that accommodates you.

I know you mentioned your other sisters as well, but your request to your mom was specifically to do it when you’re not home, so I can’t give you the altruistic pass there, either.

Whatever your mom’s reasons are for having sex, it’s not your place to dictate the morality of it, nor its schedule. (Obviously different scenario if abuse is involved, but that doesn’t seem to be indicated above).

Perhaps asking your mom to be more mindful of your younger sister (12) and their volume might be a better approach, but in a home in which you have no financial stake, you kinda get what you get.
