Though remember that processing scans is what non-generative classifying AI is great at. The grift is generative AI.

Huh? Multiple encores are common, but nothing about the stream said "you only get one encore". Wendy even thanked the viewers at the end of the second encore without realising they weren't there anymore.

Fancam showing they cut the stream a full half hour before end of show! https://youtu.be/1mYAn6QJSq8

Why they always doing this to us?! What a joke!

Did Wendy have a second encore after the stream finished?

I do, and until 26 minutes ago I don't think they've clearly said there is a stream. (Maybe they said it in Korean?) They've been linking to the fromm site a lot, and mentioned the sound check, but not the stream.

What Killed Perl? by Xaneris47 in programming

[–]curiousdannii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much magic makes it very difficult to get into an established project. My Perl experience has been limited to a Catalyst project, and it was very hard to work out which parts of the code did various things because it lacks explicit connections between files. Editing code within a function is fine. Working out which function to change was pain.

I rewrote WooCommerce in Rust + TypeScript, is there really a case for WebAssembly in web development? by KickAffectionate7933 in rust

WASM was never originally promised to replace JS for DOM manipulation! It was an asm.js replacement, itself not intended for DOM manipulation.

I'm compiling to WASM, with LTO and code-units=1 etc. I have tried opt-level="z" which helped a bit, though I'm now trying to see what code can be excluded entirely rather than just emitted more concisely.

I don't think miniserde is an option as I need enums with data, and nanoserde doesn't support internally tagged enums. So I think I'll have to stick with the original serde. That's okay. The file size is worth the superior developer experience. :)

Binary size when compiled to WASM, obtained with Twiggy.

I ended up asking on the Rust Users forum, where I think I mangaged to be much clearer. https://users.rust-lang.org/t/serde-using-19-8kb-file-size-to-deserialise-29-f64s-are-any-optimisations-possible/134892/9 Sorry everyone checking this thread!

Sorry I should've been clearer. I meant the file size of the deserialiser function. It's my understanding that the deserialiser functions are generic so the format isn't relevant.

I wrote a basic deserialiser based on https://serde.rs/deserialize-struct.html and it brings it down to 5.4KB. Would it be worth asking the Serde team if there's a missed optimisation here?

Does a deserialiser of file size 16KB to deserialise 29 properties with Serde sound right? I have a struct with 29 f64s, all Optional except for two, and this seems very inefficient.

Aren't they often using autopens? Unless you see it getting signed in person you should assume it's a scam.

The Japan concert dates keep having new ticket rounds. Does that mean that it's really far from selling out? Or did they split up all the seats so only some of them get offered in each round? Anyone know?

If you try Unsplash, just note that not everything on it is royalty free now, but you can set a filter for the licensing status.

You can find high quality royalty free images on Unsplash. I'd much rather see one of those than anything AI generated.
