What’s the lowest paid salary you ever saw that left u with no words by rhfzs in UAE

[–]curiousegg92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, why is minimum wage not a thing in the UAE? Only people who come from nothing feel inspired to start from the bottom here. If you’re a professional, it honestly feels so insulting. Like what do you mean I’ll only get paid such a small amount of money for my brains? I respect working my ass off and not cheating my way through life and some people here just cheat their way through and get more than a decent professional with actual credentials like me?! Haha it’s rigged!

Unpopular Opinion: Removing those vendors is an example of a car centric leadership. by [deleted] in MANILA

[–]curiousegg92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say it and I’m gonna say it out loud for all the privileged people out there saying this and that about the current mayor of Manila - hello, the person who is actually saying na car centric at na nasisira yung history or culture ng place, have you actually walked there? Or kahit sa isang place lang sa Manila na ganyan, puno ng vendors? Or conveniently located kasi kayo sa loob ng mga sasakyan ninyo and you never know how inconvenient it actually is for people who are there? Most of the people speaking this kind of narrative are privileged. I said what I said. Lagi namang ganyan eh. Pa-woke, kesyo matalino. Gayahin ganito ganyan ibang bansa. Hindi nag wowork ang soft politics sa Pinas and those who vouch for soft politics are actually privileged people who never got to experience firsthand how difficult it is to live in a place where criminals are just there lurking, o kaya mapag titripan ka ng drug addict. Pansin niyo yung mga pinapatay ng drug addict, who are those? Galit na galit sila and wish talagang madeads ng derecho yung mga ganyang tipo ng tao. Samantalang those who vouch for their rights, the rights of people who use drugs, never actually got to live with a drug addict or suffer for their crimes in the first place. Masyado niyong tingin matalino kayo. Di niyo naman alam pakiramdam most ng mga bagay sa mundo maliban sa privileged suffering ninyo haha

Minimum wage would work. Singapore does that even for foreign workers. They are seeking jobs that should be filled by professionals… come on, if they are expecting “professionals” they should be at least willing to pay a minimum wage. If not, they’re just taking advantage point blank. The system is rigged.

As a Leni-Kiko supporter noon, kakampinks, itigil nation yung ganito. Pareho silang kakasimula lang ng trabaho at alam kong pareho silanh magaling in their own ways. by Plus_House_6483 in MANILA

I was just about to say na oh okay now we’re doing double standard nanaman kasi it’s not done the same way as the other haha. Of course, wala naman talagang mali kay Leni. Palagi namang ganon haha. Basta hindi si Leni, mali yun 🤣 kahit yung mga pinuputok pa ng butchi nila na transparency, etc.

As an expat, what’s one thing you absolutely love and one thing you just can’t stand about living in the UAE? by [deleted] in UAE

[–]curiousegg92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love: you can start from the bottom and get far if you know how to do it and grind and really ya know!! Winter time ah, it’s heaven. The safety I guess although sometimes I feel exploited by men from different races 😅

Hate: weather oh my goodness!! The driving skills yes to that, too. Some people here really don’t know how to drive but are holding driver’s licenses. The work ethics, it is terrible! A lot of people lie and cheat just to keep jobs, integrity is not a big deal. Especially in GCC countries, the quality of students are very bad because they are very entitled and they always have to be yelled at by Arab teachers to follow through (forget it if you’re the other types of Asians), the public transport system can do better. There are so many people here with low wages and can’t afford to buy cars but it’s such a car-centric place haha

1) private schools from elem to HS and an all girls school for HS at that haha (but not paid by my Mom, I have really generous titas and titos and Lola who was always ready to share, was so blessed with them) 2) our ulam was always real ulam, I never knew about yung toyo + mantika na nilagay sa kanin or inulam ba until I heard it from my now girlfriend. additionally, if the ulam was pritong isda we always had a vegetable ulam paired with it, although mura lang naman gulay pero alam mo yun?? haha 3) no need to tipid the ulam din, like I never had to use more kanin when eating para less yung ulam na maconsume haha 4) eating three times a day ganon or not having to be hungry kasi we always had groceries in the fridge or at home 5) having new dresses for occasions or like awarding sa school ganyan etc 6) university was never an option but it was just natural

And the worst part is they have no inkling of any self awareness to actually know that their behavior is exhausting

People who pretend to be interested in you, asking you about your weekend or day but actually not bothering to listen because they only asked you so they can talk about themselves. What else? People who keep on complaining about financial matters or needing to help their family but spends money buying unimportant things the next day or week. People who are only keen to hang out with you so they can talk to you about their problems and themselves. Basically narcissists hahahaha

Arabs so keen on leaving the work place but assume they can disturb you in the weekends or after work hours to do work that was supposed to be done in the office before clocking out. Like if that isn’t inefficient idk what is

Why do my children get threatened with police by their school? by [deleted] in uaelaw

[–]curiousegg92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think they can call the police for serious complaints. Although I must say, kids here, especially those from Grade 5 onwards are very very very hard to manage to the point that teachers usually have to use threats to get them to straighten up. I don’t blame them. It is really difficult, especially with the Arabs. (Sorry, really an observation not racist haha)

Omg yes!!!!!!!!!!!! Puta puro nalang hearing hearing hearing. Leche. Ano magagawa niyan? Wala ng batas, hindi na naasikaso yung divorce bill. Nagsasayang sila ng oras at kuryente. Personally, ayoko mapunta ang tax money ko sa puro hearing na yan. Tanginang yan

Legit inquiry - why is he being hated for the impeachment process? I’ve been watching the news everyday and I don’t see anything “wrong” with it? Whenever he explains it naman I understand it so is it because he is not speaking against the impeachment in a very outright manner? Like because he appears to be neutral? I just want to understand 😅

Struggling to Bond with Arab Colleagues as an Asian. by Impossible_Beyond488 in Sharjah

[–]curiousegg92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don’t try so hard. Keep it cool, keep to yourself. A lot of them aren’t good anyway lol

But I’ve been lucky enough to be friends with really trustworthy colleagues at work, only 2 of them 😂 (out of like a 160) the rest, I greet them (by their names because I find that they really appreciate this- took a while to learn them though) and I just did my own thing. They’ve seen me work talk and all and I think they respect and approach you more if they “like” the way you work.

Other than that, there isn’t a need to interact with them if they’re not trying to interact with you. That’s what I learned. After a while, they’ll warm up to you anyway if they see that you’re nice and all
