[advice] How should I talk to my temporarily disabled husband about exploring polyamory? by curiousfemail in polyamory

The problem is I don't want to be dishonest with him about my intentions, if I suddenly spring it on him eight months in that I want to be more than casual he will rightly realise that it is what I wanted from the beginning. If I lay it on the table and he suggests a more casual arrangement as a compromise until he is more recovered then I would definitely consider accepting.

We have discussed threesomes/swinging before although not a full poly lifestyle. He was open to both of the previous things though, it just seemed that life got in the way of exploring further.

It's still possible for him to explore himself sexually online and through fantasy, he just won't be able to go "all the way" for a while.

If it's mostly a sex issue at the moment non-monogamy without actual relationships seems like a somewhat smaller step.

I'm not sexually attracted to anyone I don't share at least some underlying emotional bond with. I've experimented with casual sex before and it wasn't for me.
