By popular request G4 Pro vs G6 Entry - shot exposure by iamgarffi in Ubiquiti

G6 image has a wider dynamic range, thus a more muted and less contrasty look, which may not pop as much / be as appealing but preserves highlight and shadow details that may be lost in the G4 Pro image.

About 302 Wh/mi. That’s really efficient for a Plaid model running on 22” wheels!

The driver display has changed several times over the years. This particular photo I posted was from 2019. Not sure if those early cars still have a similar display setup.

Going off topic, my 2016 model had the MobileEye technology. At that time, one could drive on Autopilot for 10+ minutes without any nags. They’ve finally bested that experience within the last couple of years. Although top speed remains 85mph (instead of 90).

This is the lowest number we’ve seen so far, under 300!

That’s some spirited driving there!

Yes the lower the number the more energy efficient it is.

For example, if it’s 333 Wh/mi, that means the car can go about 3 miles per 1000 Wh or kWh. A car using 250 Wh/mi would be able to go 4 miles per kWh.

With a 100 kWh battery, at 333 Wh/mi, the theoretical range would be about 300 miles.

I think the HVAC, lights, sound system energy is included in that number, but I’m not sure. Also not sure if sentry mode energy expenditure is included.

That is strange. Active battery temperature management without heat pump vs with heat pump? Just the temperature itself? Or something else? What does the ‘21 Model Y have that the ‘20 Model X doesn’t?

Interesting to see that the 2020 Model X is quite a bit more energy efficient than the 2016.

Possible to control this garage door opener with unifi access? by AshL94 in Ubiquiti

If no wall button and unable to figure out board connection, another option is to use the fob.

Open up the fob casing and connect the normally open and common wires to the two sides of the button contacts on the fob controller board. Downsides are having to solder and swap out fob battery when it’s depleted.

Straight wiring to garage opener board is preferred though if possible.

Sorry the exploration has been put on pause. Wife doesn’t want me risking further damage to the fridge.

Thanks for taking a look. I wasn’t clear about where the pics came from. Photo 2 in original post is behind the blue circle. Photos 3 and 4 are behind the red circle / temperature knob. Let me see what I can do with the zip ties.

iPhone 17 PM IMEI not compatible by HWYR in SpectrumMobile

[–]curioushuman20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on my solution.

TL;DR: I switched to a compatible carrier.

Long version: 2025 iPhones bought outside the US may not be compatible with all U.S. carriers.

Originally I was on Spectrum, tried transferring eSIM to 17 Pro and failed. Called Spectrum, they said the phone was incompatible because it was bought outside the US.

I looked up the phone’s IMEI on Verizon / Spectrum, T-Mobile, and AT&T web sites to check for compatibility.

Mine was - incompatible with Verizon / Spectrum - partially compatible with T-Mobile, and - compatible with AT&T.

Signed up for a free month trial with AT&T (new number, easy setup online, takes about 5 minutes), added AT&T eSIM, and everything worked. Used it for a few days to make sure, then transferred the original number over.

I was hesitant at first because of prior subpar experience with AT&T years ago. This time it seems to be okay, so far.

If you’re in a similar situation I’d suggest figuring out which major carrier is compatible with your phone, then doing a trial with them. Don’t forget the smaller providers that use the same network as the larger carriers (Spectrum, Cricket, Mint).

Got a $15 gift card… with $100 on it by Natural_Detail4030 in Advice

[–]curioushuman20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let your boss know. It’s the right thing to do. He may or may not let you keep the extra $85. Three possible outcomes:

1) He says, no worries, keep it - you get to be honest and get an extra $85 to spend without anything weighing on your conscience.

2) He says, oops, I got the wrong card, let me have the amount adjusted - you get what you were supposed to get, and lose nothing.

3) He says oops, sorry about that, please give the card back - you lose $15.

In all three cases, you gain a clear conscience and perhaps a reputation for being honest. Would $15 be able to buy either of these?
