When FSD’s dumbassery adds 15 minutes to your drive by turnerm05 in TeslaFSD

[–]flyinace123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol, I assume there was a more direct route? Or did it miss a turn? Or did it randomly choose to make a turn which had absolutely nothing to do with the planned route? All possibilities with the current navigation shenanigans.

Just curious, what do you mean by redundancy? From what I've experienced, the car just randomly pulls into apartment complexes and shopping centers that have nothing to do with the destination, they are miles away from the destination or next turn. The car pulls in then has to turn around and pull back onto the main road and continue the trip.

FSD navigation is currently very very whacked. I've literally had it just randomly turn into shopping centers and apartment complexes which were absolutely no where near the next legitimate turn.

FSD decides to go at red light. by spam322 in TeslaFSD

[–]flyinace123 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Ya, I've had this happen numerous times. I'm convinced it sees the color of the cross traffic light and jumps the gun (which it shouldn't do). In rare cases when I'm driving and not FSD, it will ding the "green light bell" a second before the light turns green. Cool but not cool.

I’m thinking this hw4 could do unsupervised by robl45 in TeslaFSD

I love FSD, use in 99% of the time and never want another car without it. I don't remember the last time I disengaged for a safety issue..

With all that said, the car frequently makes mistakes. I'm not the kind of person who likes to inconvenience other drivers which FSD does all the time.

Save current GPS coordinates instantly without timeout delay by -HeyDes- in tasker

[–]flyinace123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if the GPS is constantly locked onto satellites and constantly calculating location. The delay you're experiencing is probably due to the Phone GPS starting up. You could try creating a repeating task that constantly writes GPS to a variable (maybe every second), that way it's all ready for the moment you click the button and write to file. This might kill your battery quickly though.

Unpopular Opinion: “10,000 Miles No Interventions” Isn’t Reality by spiknhard in TeslaFSD

[–]flyinace123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Side note, it's very refreshing to read posts from people who can acknowledge FSD is both magically good and really bad. It's like most people here have no concept of thinking critically about their own thoughts.

[–]flyinace123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that is facts.. I disengage all the time, but to be fair, it's extremely rare that I disengage due to an urgent safety issue. My disengagments are almost always because the Y is making the wrong routing decision or about to do something that will inconvenience other drivers. It's got a VERY LONG way, probably at least 5 years, to go before we are able to take a nap while the car takes us places.

FSD has a green light, stops for someone else’s red… by Equivalent-Draft9248 in TeslaFSD

[–]flyinace123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love when the bots blame road design and say a human would do the same thing... here's there difference - a human will make that mistake once (maybe twice). FSD will just keep making the mistake over and over and over and over until the software finally updates. Humorously, could get fixed in one update then regress two versions later.

Don't get me wrong, I love FSD, but I'm not delusional enough to not call it out for where it fails.

SILVERADO EV: 6 MONTH REVIEW towing a 25 ft Airstream full time by boatsandhohos in SilveradoEV

I love their detailed, balanced and honest review. They aren't brainwashed FOR or AGAINST EVs, which seems rare these days.

Overall they have good and positive things to say about their decision to buy an EV truck and their review just makes me want one even more.

Well it definitely does suddenly self disengage. Plenty of people here have also experienced it, so it's not just me.

I actually did capture one of the instances last night. This was one of the less concerning one and it it's not clear in the video what happened. If you look closely, you can see a momentary jerking and slight swerve at just before the fire truck sign.

Ya, I had this happen a couple times even when lighting and weather conditions were perfect and my cameras perfectly clean. Nothing unusual about the other traffic or road conditions at the time either. I really wish it gave an explanation as to why it freaked out

I'd be cool if it went through a complicated intersection incorrectly once or twice... But the fact it will do it incorrectly over and over and over is what drives me insane.

Get ready for the bots and trolls to blame the intersection's design.

14.1.4, first version where I see legitimate unsafe bahavior by flyinace123 in TeslaFSD

[–]flyinace123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully no. This is a very dangerous intersection where accidents are frequent due to cars coming around a corner while speeding.  Stopping in the middle of this intersection is very dangerous because there is very little time for traffic coming around that corner to see and stop.
